Default Pic's of my 'Stang

Hey everyone, here's a few pic's of my 'Stang. I hope you like them. Oh, the front is up pretty high because there's no engine or transmission in it.

The motor will be a built 306 with Dual 4 barrel carbs. Total power will be around 350 at the flywheel and 290 at the rear wheels. I'll also be installing a Tremec, and an 8.8 with 4.30 gears, and a Detroit Locker setup. I hope to be running 12.50's at around 109 MPH when I'm done.

It's a 1979, the first year for the Fox bodies.

Yes it's a repaint. That paint job killed me! I had to save up for a year, and take out a very small loan just to get up enough money to get it done. It's well worth it though. I did not want to skimp on the visual aspects of the car whatsoever, as that is what people look at first when they check your car out. I also had to have the hood decal custom made because nobody reproduces it anymore (I had to wait 6 months for that to arrive!). Visually, I've also applied the following brand new parts: Chrome door handles, all body emblems, headlights, taillights, and winshield. I figured that I only want to go through with this once, so I'd better do it right the first time. Doing it like this has its drawbacks, though. I've owned it for almost 3 years and I've only driven it once (for 6 miles)! Sooner or later (Hopefully Sooner!) it'll be done and I'll finally get to show, race, and enjoy it! Thank's for your responses everyone!

I too have a '79. It's a hybrid mustang. It's going to be a '67/'79/'89 mustang/capri. Motor from a '67, rear end and front disk from the '89. Body of a capri, and the rear hatch of a '79 mustang. I picked the capri body because I loved the fender flares they have. If u ever see a '79 capri, you'll see what I mean. Right now it's rootbeer brown/black. It was supposed to be tangrine Orange, but it didn't turn out right. The guy used a black base coat, should have used white. Then he put seviral coats of tangrine Orange clear coat on top. So it's Rootbeer brown metal flake. Go HERE to see the car.

Very nice looking car! I should post some pics of my '79 to make you feel even better about how yours looks. I've been working on prepping it for paint, but to get it painted right around here (take everything apart, no masking) I'm looking at $4-7K. Where did you buy the resto parts from?

Mustang man 65-79, I can't find your car! It said "Document Not Found". If you can e-mail me some pic's, that would be great. Also, thanks for your comments! My e-mail address is pslaney@attbi.com. Blue 00GT, thank you for your comments as well. I bought all of my emblems, door handles, and carpet from Mustangs Unlimited in Connecticut, my taillights from Triple S Auto Parts (Online), headlights from Wal-Mart, and decals from Phoenix Graphics in Phoenix Arizona. Boy does all of that little stuff add up! That 4k-7k price tag on the paint sounds about right. Mine was 5K and that was with me pulling the WHOLE car apart and putting it back together. All in all it took about a year! (I don't know how I survived it). For that price, it was sanded to bare metal and the engine compartment was sandblasted along with some rot in the roof (around the sunroof). It was then coated with PPG's Urethane Primer, Paint, and Clearcoat, before a final wet sanding and buffing. I'm truly happy with the way it came out although I was nervous as hell putting it back together! Please e-mail me some pic's of your mustang as well. I'd love to see them.
