Has Anyone Seen This Car?
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone here saw this car on ebay a couple of times? I live local and saw it run but it got no bids. Now I see it in the Collector Car Trader site. Well my curiosity finally got me and I went and looked at it today (Saturday) WOW! This is a sweet car... a lot of money, but very sweet.. I'd be scared to drive that one with that kinda paint job, And I didn't.. I let the owner take me out for a ride. Not sure if he would have let me drive it anyway, He didn't offer.. But it's definitely a very sweet ride. I'd hate to have to get some paint work done to that one. It's not an everyday driver.. Well to me anyway.. Well if anyone is interested in it, It is what they say it is. But again it is a little high on the price.. I didn't really get into a price war with the guy but he did say he would consider all offers. He did seem to kinda rush me out when I didn't offer to buy the car.. Guess he figured I was just a tire kicker.. I can't blame him, He probably gets a lot of them.. Guess I was one too But I just couldn't help it, I just had to go see it.. I wonder if it would ever jump up in value like the 70 Cudas and the older Stangs.. If I only knew I'd take a chance...

Wow, youre local to me, I'm surprised I havent seen it around, then again, I dont get over to pinellas much anymore and the owner must not drive it much if at all. That thing is sweet tho. Is it the Rays pitcher mentioned in the ad thats selling it?

Actually the car belongs to a couple of auto brokers. They bought it from the X- Rays pitcher. Guess that's why the guy sold the car. I don't think he plays anymore. The Rays let him go before the season started. He was always hurt.. Not sure if another team picked him up.

I saw one like that in Tallahassee a few months ago. Could have been the same one. I looked awesome! I'm sure that cost a pretty penny to have done.

$11,500.00
Stacy, Yes it was an AWESOME looking ride. I played a tire kicker and went and looked at it.. I couldn't resist.. And yes it did cost a bunch of pretty pennies. According to their ad it cost $11,500.00 for that paint option. There's no way I could afford that sucker new. That car had a pretty interesting history too, Here is some of their ad below..
1996 FORD MUSTANG GT (SALEEN), S281. THIS IS CAR NUMBER 2, THE FIRST EVER MUSTANG TO RECEIVE SALEEN'S $11,500.00 "EXTREME RAINBOW" FLIP PAINT JOB AND THE ONLY ONE THEY DID IN 1996. IT THEN WENT ON TO THE INTERNATIONAL CAR SHOW FOR 30 DAYS BEFORE BEING PURCHASED BY MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCHER BOBBY SEAY, OF THE TAMPABAY DEVIL RAYS. ONLY 13 OF THESE MUSTANG'S EXIST IN THE "EXTREME RAINBOW" FLIP FINISH AND THIS ONE IS IN SHOWROOM CONDITION WITH ONLY 7,900 MILES, ALWAYS GARAGED, NEVER SMOKED IN OR WRECKED. SOLD FOR OVER $60,000.00 WHEN NEW.

SOLD!
Well I bid on this beautiful Saleen but didn't win it. I sent an email to the owner and they said it's sold. It's going to England. Damn, I'd be scared to death to ship that car there. Hope it gets there with out any damage..
