Post ricer rims??

It's been a real long time since I have been on this internet site so I dont know if other people have discussed this issue. What is it with these rice wanabe's having a nice set of rims on the back tires and a set of crappy ones up front. I just saw like a 93 civic hatchback the other day with the front hubcaps off....what's the point? Are they trying to make us think that they have front drags on? I live in Wisconsin and there really arent much for fast ricers, but these cars with the rims like this are all over. I'm not completely anti-rice...I use to own a 99 si, but seriously. If you dont have a fast car, don't be ridiculous and try to make it look fast.

They probably "THINK" it looks like they have some sort of slicks on the front. Remember all a ricer cares about is looks not performance. Geesh, I bet that fad will get here soon enough.

Anyone ever wonder where the stupidity ends?

He said rims on the back and stock wheels on the front...that is not for hooking...how are you going to hook better by not doing anything to the drive wheels?

I have seen these myself a few times and it makes no sense at all. i saw an integra one time that had honda civic hubcaps on the front and some rims on the back and a honda badge on the front where it should be acura....yea he really fooled me.

Hey,
im new here as a member, but i've been reading post for months. anyways. i have always wondered the same thing about the rims. and i think they just lowered their cars so much that the tire rubs in the wheel well or they put the smaller rims on the front to give it more low end and torque to act like gears. but the reason why we always see them like that is because they purposely leave them there to look cool.

they do that because normally they will have a 17" or 18"wheels and the 15" 14" wheels they have on stock will hook up better they are just smaller

the size of the wheel alone does not better traction make. with the smaller wheel, you can put a tire with a bigger sidewall, and therefore decrease the pressure. also, contact area has alot to do with it. a bicycle tire on a car won't do jack, but a nice wide tire will. that's why slicks are wide, and tall

I am willing to bet that most of them are doing it because every other "import enthusiast" they know is doing it.

I've got a little brother that is just learning to drive. I'm turning him into a die hard mustang fan. He's gained enough knowledge from me that he goes to school and talks trash to all the stupid rice kids he know's. He went to school the other day and pointed out to a kid he knows that his civic is not a type R because they only make type R civics in Japan. The kid got pissed and refused to talk to him anymore.

I'm no ricer or promote any ricing. I actually go out and make fun of riced out cars. I go to www.ricecop.com and print off rice tickets and put them on riced out cars. But the reason why they have rims in the back and plain hubs on the front is they probably have winter tires on the front. Obviously they arn't going to get 17 inch + snow tires, so they put there orignal on and get winter tires for the front, them being front wheel drive and all. I don't defend any of the other problems you guys pointed out cause I always see it. I see a older civic with snow tires on the rear and bald tires on the front. Made no sense to me.

I took this picture acouple weeks ago at a car show. It's got wheely wheels and it's front wheel drive. No idea how it intends on picking the front end up but you get the idea of real stupid rice.

Hope this helped some people,
§am.

lol Yeh I know. I've sene it once before. When I seen it again I was like look at that peice of crap, does he not relise what's going on with his car. It's basicly like having big wings for down presure on your rear. Maybe the wings should be on the front? Who knows, just give those damn ricers some more time.

I used to work at a tire store and i can tell you EXACTLY why these idiots have the wheels/tires on the back.

They buy the wheels and have tires mounted on them, usually on lowered vehicles. Then they find out (as previously mentioned) that either because of the camber increase or just lack of clearance the tire/wheels won't fit on the front
OR
because those idiots buy universal wheels that happen to bolt up but have incorrect backspacing and can only put in on the rear because with the tires on the front they have problems with what i wrote above or because they physically can't turn around corners.
Whenever we sold wheels and tires we'd always recommend a test fitting of the wheel or 1 wheel and tire on the vehicle before the others to make sure that it'll fit. If it didn't the customer only bought 1 wheel or 0 because of the trial, once a tire is mounted to a wheel the wheels can't be returned.

This is my explanation, anyways.
