Default Squeeking window!!?

My drivers side window on my 2003 Mustang has started squeeking when it goes up and down. Nothing wrong with the mechanism. It is squeeking as it rubs across either the rubber seal on the outside or the kind of felt like pad seal on the inside right at the top of the window slot in the door. It is irratating as hell.

Anybody else have this or have any suggestions on how to stop this?? I hate to put like wd40 on it as I am sure that will come off on the window and make a film on the glass.

My passenger window does the same thing and I have never been able to fix it. Sometimes I will get it to quit for a day or two, but the sound always comes back. If you get something figured out, let me know.

Try squirting some powdered graphite in the window track.

Tinted windows? The cleaner stuff for tint works. Or rainX, or the anti fog rainX should work.

No tinted windows. I am going to do that later this year. Thanks for the tips. I think I will try rainX first. I have some of the regular and I also have the graphite. I will report back on the results.

Mine aren't tinted anymore. I have tried the silicon spray and it doesn't even last a month. I may have to check into the powdered graphite, although I think my window motor is on its last leg and needs to be replaced anyway. This summer I will probably try to replace the motor and see if that somehow helps.

I have this same problem. I find it extra irritating because it stops my driver’s window from going all the way down the first time with the one touch button. Same goes for my alarm, when I lock it, the driver’s side only goes halfway up. I contacted Ford about this and they said there was nothing they could do, but that every one complained about it on mustangs and some trucks.

The strange thing is, it never happens on the passenger side. It also so doesn't happen when the door is open. This leads me to believe that it’s not the track, but the rain seal around the top and rear of the window. I often wondered if I trimmed it with a razor if it would help. I don't want to screw it up and have leaks though.
