Question What is it worth?

I'm new at this, I could some expertise and advice. Contemplating buying a 1993 Mustang LX that is highly modified. I'll save the details and give you the highlights. Coast High Perf. 349 ci Cobra motor, Blue Thunder forged rods, CHP main girdle, Holley Systemax heads, upper & lower intake all ported by Excessive Motorsports. Lunati cam .509/.509 276 duration/280 exhaust, Pro M maf, #30 Ford Motorsport injectors, MSD 6 ignition, PowerDyne supercharger BD11, BBK headers, Flowmaster exhaust, T-5 5 speed, 3.73 gears, stock body and interior with Pony rims, and a badass stereo. Opinions on what you, the knowledgable blue oval brigade, feel this car may be worth, and if the sum of these parts are any good. Dyno claims are 500hp at the rear wheels and is supposedly street drivable. Please tell me what you think.

I would walk away. Modded cars like that can be a pain.

I don't like CHP and I SURE don't like Excessive Motorsports.

It all depends on the price. I definatly wouldn't give more than $1K more than I would for a stock car. Actully the stock car would probably be worth just as much money.

I agree with Josh (which is weird)

Powerdyne's are junk, systemax heads arent that great. excessive motorsports is more than a joke.

Unless that POS belt driven blower is pumping out a **** load of boost, I doubt it is anywhere near 500rwhp.

Even if the paint/body is great, I wouldn't give more than $5k or so for it.

I've never heard of this motor? Is it something CHP is marketing as their 'Cobra' motor??? I understand that it's a .040 over piston w/3.4 stroke, but the whole 'Cobra' thing is throwing me.

I'd have to agree with the others on the fact that I'm not a real fan of the Powerdyne and unless it's been tuned via Autologic chip or otherwise, I dunno about the 500 RWHP claims.

Josh - why don't you like CHP? Just curious.

probably because they build reliable engines that you don't have to take out all the time like Josh is used to

Exclamation

Thanks for all the replies, you helped me make up my mind. This guy wants to trade this 'stang for my full dress Harley, figuring that his car is worth the $15,000 I'm asking for my bike. I can see that would be big mistake, and now I won't do it. When my bike sells I'll buy a used LX or GT and build my own thumper. Thanx all!

Hey guys what gives? I got trashed a few months ago for stating that modified cars loose valve and can become harder to sell. Oh well. I guess if you are concerned about re-sale, you should either avoid too many mods are stick with well recognized components.

No way in hell it would give 15K for that car. I agree, just sell your bike and build your own.

Pick up a nice 5.0 and throw on heads, cam, intake, and a blower and some other bolt-on's. That should really lay down some power and propel you deep into the 11's.
