Question How do I remove awful tint?

Well, the notch I just bought has this god-awful purple tint on the rear and rear-side windows. I can barely see out the back on a clear sunny day.

Sooo.... How the heck do I remove this crap without ruining my rear defroster. I think the tint shops use this bottle of stuff they spray as they pull it away. My question is, what's in that bottle that kills the adhesive? Is it just soapy water or vinger or something? Maybe a chemical?

As always, any advice is much appreciated.

I don't know about the back glass, but I think you can use soapy water and a razor blade on the side windows

try rubbing alcohol...i know that works on tint that has started to peel...but i guess youd prob have to try to start the peeling at the top...

Soapy water and the razor blade is the best way to remove old tint, but when you pull the tint off there will more than likely be a "Glue Residue" left on the window. I have used rubbing alchohol in the past to remove the glue from the window. IF you have never done this its not fun sorry to say. It will more than likely pell off in llittle pieces and that jsut sucks.

For that glue thats left over you might try 3m adhesive sp? remover??? It worked well on the stickers on the bike. Sorry to say removing tint turns into an all day thing. Razor blade, soapy water, glass cleaner, and maybe that 3m stuff.

Removing tint is no fun...but some nail polish remover will help remove the sticky residue left over.

Yeah, I thought soapy water was the best idea too, just being careful around the defroster lines...

But no fear! Matt doesn't know it yet, but I bought him some of the tint remover we have at work, and sure enuff, it came with a handy dandy razor blade Its been like Christmas all week for that boy, yesterday I got him a new trunk carpet and a car cover, since the girl's gotta sit in the parking lot for a bit!
