No friggen way with just boltons. 4.56 gears? thats alot of gear to be running 120 mph in 1/4. that guy must be a 4.6 god if he got those times out of a 2v engine with no power adder. i'd be interested in know what other "tweeks" he has done and what he calls serious weight reduction.

there is now way in hell he is running that kind of times! i think he forgot to tell everyone about the 100hp nos shot he has! and 4.56 gears, that does seem like a lot of gear for 120mph!

Thumbs down BS on stilts

The link worked fine but the post was an insult to sentient intelligence.

Probably just some dork playing with people and living out his fantasy-car dreams online.

As much sad as it was silly.

For everyone's info. The ET calculator in the analyzer section of this site says that under ideal conditions it takes a 3000lb. car about 400hp to hit 11.4.

I don't know what he got his weight down to but I vote BS as well.

end, & 1 seat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4.56 gear 120 mph trap speed is possible
if he can rev that 44444444.6 to 9800rpm!

Pathetic. Both the idiot in question, and the site for encouraging him. Reminded me of Jr. High School antics. I must admit, though, the theory that installing a roll cage will make your car faster was funny. I wonder if he runs faster with a full 5 gallon water bottle strapped to his back, too.

Not my kind of website.

Mustang Works is a great site, we all agree, but after seeing that one, I'm felling that the word "great' doesn't begin to do MW justice. We really do have it good, folks. (Thanks Dan!)

Take care,
-Chris

Thumbs up Appreciation

PKRWUD:

Now that you've mentioned it, I noticed that too. The nastiness and BS on that board was way more than we usually see - or tolerate - on MW.

Just shows you what a difference forum moderation and reasonable, intelligent members can make, and how much better the boards are for that.

Thanks for pointing it out.

There were replies to that thread from two different moderators for that site, and they were just as bad as everyone else. What a joke. I agree that it's both the members and the moderators that make a site worthwhile. That site seemed to have jerks on all fronts. It's too bad it took something like that website for me to see just how good we have it. I mean, I know this site rocks, and it's my #1 place to be online. I probably spend 80% of my time online here. But still, seeing that kind of trash put things in an even clearer perspective for me.

Kudos.

Take care,
-Chris

Funny thing is, on that other site they just ripped on the guy, whereas our members figured out how much horsepower he would need and doesn't have and that you can't go 120 with those gears.
Ahhhh, what superior Stangers we are.

well he has been making those claims for a long time. They have already all been through the calculations, and proved him wrong. Busted him for photoshopped timeslips, etc . He even posted a pic of somebody elses car claiming it was his. I just wanted to know if it was really possible if a real person tried it.

As far as that board, its a place where you can say whats on your mind, no matter what it is. It's not over moderated, and don't have software to turn profanity into stars, IMO that is childish. I mean we are suppose to be adults right ? The tech forums do stay clean, "The Pit" is anything goes, and has a disclaimer before you enter it, "Not for those who are easily offended" .

Thanks for the replies anyway.
