suspension
I helped my brother drop his S10 this weekend, anyway, nothing would come apart all the bolts were rusted frozen and it was a mess. It is a '98 with only 40,000 miles!
My question is, should I expect this when I redo my whole suspension which is 12 years old with 108,000 miles? Oh for those interested, here's a before and after of the truck....

Yep, everything gets seized together when a vehicle gets a few years on it. My favorites were the front control arm bolts on my '79. Factory torqued to like 200 ft-lb and loc-tited and rusted together. Couldn't get air tools in there, so it took two breaker bars and both arms and both legs working as hard as I could. Penetrating oil definitely helps. Coca-cola actually works to loosen up rusty fasteners, too.

All of the cars I've bought here in Arizona have had few problems with siezed bolts. If you don't have an OA torch to heat them up with be prepared to use a case and a half of WD40.

My '79 came apart with no problems, but I have yet to take off the lower A-arms. I've taken off everything else, nothing was sezied at all. Didn't even use an air gun either.

Cool...
I was hoping it would be easier, because I'm the one that did all the muscle work! He went out and bought a new HEAVY DUTY high end air gun and that couldn't do it, so I had to put my 260Lbs into a breaker bar! Now my poor hands are raw...haha Well, he owes me when I do mine, so we'll see when I get there
