Exclamation Half Life 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*trying to keep from going into shock*

As some of you may know Half Life 2 is scheduled to come out 9-30-03 . I've been reading about the new engine, the new this and the new that. I've read the article and have seen the pics in PC Gamer magazine so I was thinking, okay, this'll be Quake III Arena cubed quality, but man was I wrong. How 'bout Quake III Arena to the 10th power! There is a 600 MB video you can download. A friend of mine with cable modem downloaded it for me and burnt it on a disk. People who are interested (with cable.. for obvious reasons) IT IS WELL WORTH THE DOWNLOAD TIME-- MAKE NO MISTAKE!!!!!. For those of you who are into HF, TRUST ME, if able, YOU WILL WANT TO DOWNLOAD THIS. I had NO IDEA the graphics, gameplay, AI, environment, etc, etc, would be so complex. I had no idea. This will by far be the best PC shooter game in the WORLD on September 30-03. There is a shorter trailer of the game which I believe is just clips of the larger one. You can download them here.

Also, you gotta check out this interview with Mr. Gordon Freeman himself.

BTW, in case you didn't know, there will be a HL3.

I have heard and read about the game, but haven't seen the preview video yet. It sounds like the game might let my water-cooled 3.6 Ghz PC use it's muscle a bit more.

I am downloading it now. I have a subscription to fileplanet, so 600 MB isn't so bad on the fat connection here... Their premium subscription servers can usually dish it out to me at 200 to 300 K/sec, depending on what server I pick.

I'm getting 156kb/sec on one of the free servers, but I read through the entire thing and it does look awesome! I can't wait!

The bummer is, now I've come to the realization that I own a "low-end" computer, which was once real fast... my little pent III 750mhz 512 megs ram might not be good enough for this!

Time to upgrade!

Hmmm. I got dial up so forget about dlding it. A friend of mine helped me up since he's got the fast as lightning cable connection.

Sept 30 is just enough time for me to get my act together concerning upgrading. Right now I'm with a decent 900 mhz processor, really good GForce 128 meg video card, 512 mb ram, but struggling on hard drive space with only 20gigs of total space (only about 2 gigs left of free space ). Looking at a Dell 2.2-2.4 GHz processor, and 120megs ram (just to mention the major specs of the system my brother will be putting together for me.

But hey, buy the way, when you guys watch the video, make sure you turn up the volume and listen to the narration by the guy's voice in the background. The video is about 25 minutes long.
