Question 95 5L question?????

I just wanted to know what years of the 5L mustang engine had forged pistons? I'm considering buying a 95 engine and I'm wondering if it is safe to run nitrous or a supercharger on it. I'm going to transplant the engine into my 91 T-Bird Supercoupe.

Thanx
musky

forged pistons had their swan song in '92, unless they were revived later, which they may very well have been.

Nope, they had hypereutectic cast pistons, which actually aren't too bad unless you plan on forced induction or nitrous.

1985(4bbl only)1986-1992 5.0s had forged pistons.

1985 Forged dished.
1986 Forged Flat top.
1987-1992 Forged flat top with valve relief.

Yes, you can supercharge or put N20 on the 1995. Just don't exceed 8-9psi on the charger, and I wouldn't run over a 100-125shot.
