I believe 2FastLX is a moderator at Stangnet.

As for ol' Hg, don't know where he is?

I do miss those 2, though...

Kevin (2FastLX) fell off the face of the earth when he sold his red hatch. He then bought a 4cyl car and is supposedly building a turbo car out of it.

I believe he also got a little ticked at Dan in a big misunderstanding, so I doubt he will return.

Yea, Merc used to keep us all entertained.

There are a lot of names on this thread that I hadn't seen around here in a while.

It is kind of like a big family reunion !

I'm not on as much as I'd like to be anymore, but I remember things being different. Back in my day (yeah, I feel old now) there were some great flame wars, lots of neat topics in the Blue Oval Lounge, and less forums.

Isn't it great how things progress over time?

Default I've been around...kinda

Hey everybody. I'm an old-school MW'er here (signed up back in early '98!), too, so sorry I haven't posted on this thread beforehand. I'm attending University of Detroit Mercy right now, so that's the main reason I've been slackin' off. The computer network in the dorm SUCKS here; I've already had to reload my system because of the rampant virii and worms going around, plus the speed is typically worse than dial-up. Thank God I can use this one in the library, plus I have my notebook I can plug in at the student union...

But anyhoo, yeah, I'm livin' in the ghetto now, at Livernois and 6-mile if anybody knows where that is in the D. I'm having fun, the only classes I worry about are DiffyQ and Network Theory.

I return home on the weekends, so I get to see and drive the 'Stang whenever I come home...yeah, my girl gets to see me, too, but that goes w/o sayin'.

Okay, rant off /me sorry.

Sheesh... I hated Diff EQ. Got a C in it. I guess it may have had somehting to do with the class being directly after lunch and me falling asleep in it everyday.....

Cool

I've been around here awhile as well. I just don't post near what I used to. It's good to see some names from back in the day. I had an 87 GT, then a 96 GTS, then a 94 Lightning. Now I'm trying to get into a 94-95 GT if I can find one at a decent price that's stock.

As for me, I've been way to busy to even get on and type. I might stop in here once a week to take a look, maybe even answer a question.

Lets see, rolled my '79 Capri/Mustang, got my '89 Bronco running again, got my old '66 back, and I'm about to get a '67 mustang. Plus I'm looking for a '79 Pace car or so. Helping a friend get his '68 Charger running, moved into a house, went home to visit my parents, oh, and this is all within 3 weeks time.

I'm glad to see some of the old MW's around. It's too bad that I have been so busy. I'd still love to meet some of u guys, maybe we can all go to Hot August Nights next year. I'm hoping to have a '65 GT Fastback by then.

I have a comp now, so u ppl can message me once in a while. I know Josh, and a few others have been keeping in touch.

I'm not so sure you want Unit 5302 back. My Mustang knowlege is waning quickly as I haven't been paying much attention to the aftermarket and what not as other things are taking over in the world of importance.

Times have changed out there, and so have I. I no longer see the comraderie or even tolerance that I used to between car enthusiasts. Seems like so much is import vs domestic, neither side knowing anything about the other, a lot of uninformed trash talking, and people down on each others rides instead of looking at all the effort they're putting into them.

Traffic is insane, and crack downs on enthusiastic driving has gotten out of control because of the younger generation pulling too much fast and furious on the highways. So hard to have fun out there now, certainly hard to have fun safely. No more friendly races, it's just too dangerous in bumper to bumper all the time. The tracks are being eaten up and pushed further out, it'd still cost me a full day of driving and $100+ to run a 1/4 mile.

The car hobby just isn't worth it to me anymore.

I know how you feel kelly. Out here all a cop has to do is say you were street racing and bam your car is taken away and auctioned off. You dont even get a damn warning or anything out here anymore. Stupid high school ricers driving thier parents old beater civics have ruined the san diego car scene that used to flousih. Its a shame

I'm back from the dead....formerly 84_GT350. The Mustang's been on ice until just recently (new engine, tranny, suspension, etc). It was down for about 2 years and I got wrapped up in school (Automotive Technology Service Managment major). But now I'm back with the same car and a boosted 331. Woohoo!

Yeah its getting to the point that all you can do is LOOK at your ride It sucks. You people out west have summer all year around. Try dreaming about taking your Stang out but cant cause of the snow, ice and salt on the ground.

Whats up Kell.

Those of us that have to deal with winter (snow/ice/salt) don't have very long until our babies have to be put to sleep til' spring. It makes me sad just thinking about it.
