my first speeding ticket.....
Well it finally happened, I received my first speeding ticket today in my 88 4cly.
It was a speed trap along a straight busy part of the road. I was clocked at 88KPH in a 60KPH. The first thing I thought of was, now I have to sell the GT. You see I have a G2 license, which is not a full license yet, and so I do not have many points. Anyhow, he pulls me over, along with like 15 other people and asks for my license. I give it to him and he says "oh a G2" I said yeah, he said "I will have to reduce it then" I thought GREAT So, he came back and dropped it from a $150 to a $52.50 and I loose no points, which means insurance will not be affected. Man I am glad I was not in the GT!! Most of the cops in the states that I have run into would've been dicks. Can't be complaining too much if he dropped the ticket way down.
I don't know anything about fighting tickets in Canada so good luck. Still, I wouldn't even screw with it since it doesn't effect your insurance. Too much hassle for too little reward. |

I got slapped last summer in my 5.0 for 114 km/h in a 70km/h. HAHAAA. He didn't even drop it $340.00 and 4 pts. I still have my G2, too lazy to go for the G.
Guess What? My insurance company doesn't check my tickets or points ever. It's a joke! I have 2 speeding tickets and 4 points. As far as they are concerned my record is still perfect and my rate continues to drop!!! ------------------ C ME FLY 88 coupe = MAC headers, H-pipe, and Chrome 2.5" pipes, pullies, K&N filter, BM shifter, 17" ROH ZR6, Dropped 1.5". |

Lucky you man - let me tell you, had you been cruisin' the 5.0 you can be sure there would have been no pitty and the pig would've screwed you as best he could.
Every time i've gotten pulled over, they always tell me "Be carefull sonny', cars like these drw alot of attention". They look at the BF G-Force tires and walk away snickering.. Which reminds me, my G-2 expires in June.. |

Hi,
Hehe, I better take it easy with my car. I too have a G2 right now (yea, I got my license late). I get too caught up going fast and i don't realize where I am, and I don't look out for cops. And the worse part is I live two traffic lights from a (big) police station. I've gone around 100km/h in the 60km/h zone right in front of the station, although I only hit 100 and then slow down (gradually). I pass by the station every time I head to work or pick up my sis at her school. I also hit 80km/h in a 40km/h zone behind the police station and in front of a public school. I only did this cuz I was testin' something my bro was tellin me. If you wanna know how the Graduated Licensing system works, head here: Graduated Licensing. This site basically outlines conditions for the various stages. Anywho, I look forward to NOT receiving any tickets (at least not while I'm at G2). Oh well, we'll see what summer brings.
