Please be aware of this scam- I just received a flyer from one of the banks we do business with that is the exact setup as the email about the cashiers check. The cashiers checks are fake- they've been counterfeited with routing numbers and such, but are in fact very illegal. Although I don't have the flyer anymore that gives exact details, I've just telephoned the bank from which the flyer came and the manager advised that the best route to take would be to contact your local police, who may then include the FBI, and the FBI may want you to accept the cashiers check in an attempt to catch the perpetrator. So, if you suspect that you've been contacted with such a scam, your FIRST step should be to contact the police.
Hope this helps.
