First trip to the track
Last Friday we got rained out. So, yesterday we tried again. Made it all the way to the track, to the pit, and then with three cars in front of me..................it started to rain. It rained for 10 minutes or so. Then waited 90 minutes for track to dry. Then it poured.
If I did not have bad luck, I would have no luck at all. Good experience though, and I still had fun. It will make me more relaxed next time, now that I have been through the process.

Man, that always sucks! Did they give you a rain check, no pun intended?

Yes. So at least I did not loose my $20. Rain checks at this track are good for 2 weeks. We are gonna try again this Friday.

Man, I hope so. By deep in the 13's I assume you mean 13.3 or something like that. I would settle for anything in the mid 13's.
I would like to have the fastest 13 second car on the planet (lol). That's my goal. I don't want to have to add a roll cage. 13.0 and no better.

Where did you go racing at....Beaver Springs?
As soon as I finish sinking more money in to my '82, I'm going back to the track. Let me know and maybe I'll go with you next time. BTW, I don't think you need a cage until you run quicker than 11.50 Also, take my advise, don't expect big numbers unless you have a set of slicks. I took my '82 the to track for the first time a few a weeks ago expecting to run 12's but ended up only running high 13's because I had no traction with street tires. I also found out that day, much to my surprise, that my 3:73 gears are actually 3:27 gears!! So now, I'm waiting to get my new 4:10's installed and going to buy a set of slicks. Then....I should run the numbers I'm looking for!

Wow! That sucks about the gears. I am hoping my 285/40 steam rollers will help with the traction (he.he.he), but I don't have plans on adding slicks until I beef up the rear end.
We were at Numedia! You live close, if I recall. We plan to go back this Friday. Let me know if you can make it! Blake
