Saw a GT350 (HAHAHAHAHAHA)
OK, yesterday CobraFire98 and I were heading home from the bank in our rented Taurus (sorry honey! ) when I saw the most silly car ever. It wasn't a bad Mustang but it did have it's problems. Someone had taken this little 99 V6 and done the following mods: After market spoked wheels (17's), Dual exhaust with ugly tips (OK this is the bad part: The V6 bumper doesn't have cutouts for tips so the exhaust had turned the once-white bumper black in certain areas.) Then the guy had slapped green bumper inserts an and a nice little decal on the side that read: GT 350.
Excuse me but HA! OK OK, I think it was a good idea in general. But not on a V6. I'm not bias against them at all. You guys know that. But it shouldn't even have a reference to GT 350 on it!!! Just wanted to share. ------------------ Jodi AKA PonyGirl Red 68 GT Fastback and Black 99 GT Coupe "Not your average Mustangs..." PonyGirl |

It's as bad as those morons putting Skyline GTR emblems on their Mustangs.
I was REALLY disappointed in one of the mail order companies that advertises in 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords when I saw that they are selling those "cool" GTR badges. ------------------ 351W 89 Mustang GT Convertible |

Since some of you hate people claiming they have a certain car and they don't, like the V6 w/ GT350, Skyline GTR, or 5.0's on a 2.3.
What do you think of a GT with Saleen boy kits & stickers? Is that so bad? Or is it ok if the car can perform like the car is says it is (Saleen, GT350, 5.0 ect), when it does not have the same equipment? |

To me, it's not OK to put the badges on it unless you're trying to do a full blown "clone". My car has Shelby front valance because I need the extra cooling potential. Rear valance is GT, with the holes for the exhaust. Keeps the exhaust from dragging on the entrance or exit of driveways. Putting badges on some complete fake just turns me off.

i converted my 85 gt to look like a 89 lx after i hit a deer b/c the damn sealed beam headlights were crap. But aside from the seats nobody ever can tell its a 85. I switched dashboards, side windows, changed mouldings, rear bumper. Since in 85 the GT's had no ground effects it was easier to make it a lx. Do i fit into the catagory of making it something its not?

The Fox bodied GT350 was a special edition made in '84. Not much special about them though - all the ones I have seen are white convertibles with burgundy GT350 decals and those crappy 390mm metric wheels. As far as I know, there was nothing special about the engine - I think it was the 5.0 CFI motor with like 180hp.
My 2000GT has the complete Saleen body kit. Where I live, they mark up Saleens so much that the non-supercharged models are over $40K. I know that with that much money into my GT in mods I will kick the crap out of a real Saleen. No stickers on my car though, though - I think that the stickers only belong on real Saleens. People can say that since they have Saleen parts on there that they have a right to have the sticker, but I do think that the stickers imply that it is a real Saleen. I just happen to think that the Saleens are the sweetest looking new Mustangs, so I wanted to make mine look like one. My car actually has better suspension than a Saleen anyways and will hang just fine with the non-supercharged 4.6 Saleens at the drag strip. Only thing I am lacking is some good brakes. |

He was referring to CAMARO GUY. The 1984 GT350 was offered with two different engines, a carbed 4bbl making 175hp, and a pile of **** , CFI making 160. |
