Thumbs up 03 Cobra 1/4 times

I just got my new MM&FF, 12.6@110 with a 2.0 60 foot time! Slicks, exhaust, and 11's are in the bag easy.

Not bad, but I was expecting more than 110 out of it. More like 114 or so.

Car and driver got a 12.9@111.

How the hell did they manage a 2.0 short time with all that power and IRS???? That's to me a lot more impressive than the 110 trap.

Exhaust and a pulley change = 120 traps I bet. Thank you Ford!!

when is Ford chossing to change the foxbody? 2004, 2005?
I'm trying to see how much time I've got to get a Fox Cobra!!!

Hey. did they add anymore power to that? Or did they just tune it better?

I think the body style change has been pushed back to 2005.

Where have you been??? The 2003 Cobra comes with a Eaton roots blower straped on top.

The word is, they fixed the wheelhoppng issue.

If this car wakes up anything near the 4500 lb Lightning, it will be an easy 11 second car with minor bolt-ons.

Cool.

They changed the rear suspension to handle the extra power. They knew about wheel hop, so they'd be stupid not to correct it.

That Cobra is going to ROCK!

..I agree! The stock pulley is about 8lbs of boost. Swap that out with an underdrive pully & say hello to 11's & bye-bye to Z06's! If I only had $35K....later!

Here's a couple of rumors going around net (Do a search on the Corral or LS1.com)

-Several people witnessed Evan Smith running a 12.4@113 bone stock.

-Evan also went 12.0s@117+ with a Lightning pulley and free mods (on Goodyear F1s).

Yea MM/FF likes to add 2 tenths to what ever the car runs, just to keep the Chevy owners off guard

That is awesome! Ford definately has done the right things on the Cobra. Now all they have to do is get that GT40 out on the street and FORD will be in good shape!

Supposedly, he ran the 12.4 after the magazine went into print. They even mention in the article (pg. 52) that both 12.6 runs were made in a headwind and the car may go 12.50s or more under the right conditions on stock tires.

Besides, it's just a rumor. Track/dyno numbers are virtually meaningless until actual production vehicles are released.
