Talking ATTN: Hockey Fans (especially Canadians)

I heard this and could not stop laughing. If is almost true!

A TRUE CANADIAN

It's Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, and a man makes his way to his seat right at center ice. He sits down, noticing that the seat next to him is empty. He leans over and asks his neighbor if someone will be sitting
there. "No," says the neighbor. "The seat is empty."

"This is incredible", said the man.* "Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for final game of the Stanley Cup playoffs and not use it?"

The neighbor says "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my
wife, but she passed away. This is the first Stanley Cup we haven't been to together since we got married in 1967."

"Oh ... I'm sorry to hear that.* That's terrible.* But couldn't you find someone else, a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?"

The man shakes his head "No.* They're all at the funeral."

Thumbs up

Yeah it is pretty crazy here. You get the usual crazy fans and the all the people with jerseys and signs in there cars.

The absolutey craziest city for hockey that I have ever been in is by far Edmonton. The entire city becomes enveloped in the teams drive for the cup. Every TV and Radio station, store, car, bar, club, and person in the street has something to do with the Oilers. If you are a hockey fan there is nothing like it.

I've even thought of put a big Oilers flag on the back of my stang during the play-offs and driving around. But I'd be just another car with a flag on the street (with a little more class since I drive a stang )

Go Cup Crazy!

I hear ya about Edmonton being an awesome sports town, was going to go there and play football for U of A last year, went to UBC instead ( I decided about a week before both training camps started) and ended up losing to the Bears during the regular season. They've got a new coach this year and a new stadium too! Kinda wish I'd went there instead...

red82gt,

I had a similar decision to make. I was going to take my Mining Engineering degree at one of those schools. I was living in Kimberley BC at the time and Edmonton was actually closer than Vancouver.

I'm glad that I did go to U of A. Edmonton is colder than Vancouver, but I just can't stand Vancouver. It is a huge city jammed between the mountains and the oceans. Edmonton has got a lot of room. You can drive faster with the bigger roads and less cars on the streets.

Edmonton and Dallas are actually very similar cities. When I was in Dallas it reminded me of Edmonton, with the exception of the temperature of course .

You back in Kamloops for the summer? Before I swapped companies and took my job in Dallas I was considering working for Finning in Kamloops. I really like Kamloops, nice place, plus my parents are in Kelowna which is a short drive.

Yeah, I hate Vancouver. I'm getting my degree in Geology so maybe we'll cross paths in the industry someday. Take care.
