Geez, Yellowjacket is the garage queen once again...
Just when everything FINALLY seems to be working.... BAM!
The Procharger now has a bad seal, leaking oil quickly. I check the oil in the blower religously at least once every other weekend because it can void the warranty if you let it go on low oil. Last weekend I was coming home from a car cruise and the blower sounded a little different and smelled a little different when hot. I decided to check it out the next morning as I was home-bound for the rest of the night. The next morning I made some new gaskets for the MAF. Imagine my surprise when I pulled the MAF and a section of the blower tubing off and I find oil! I finished my work on the MAF and cleaned as much as I could. I then started to work on the Procharger. I checked the oil, and it was WAY below the minimum line and BLACK! (It's supposed to be aqua blue) I did a complete oil change. (There was about 1/4 of the oil amount that should have been in there when I drained the old oil.) I nursed it and checked it daily for 3 days. The oil quickly disappeared from the blower, and by the end of the 3rd day, was once again below minimum. So I now get to pull the blower this weekend and send it in for a bad seal and possible hosed components inside. So, it looks like she's garaged for another couple of weeks... Thank goodness for a warranty and noticing the small stuff eh? Think I should go ahead and get the 10 lb pulley? ------------------ "The Yellowjacket" 381.8 rwhp 377.6 rwtq "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." |

Man, that sucks.
Although I'm not sure what would suck more, the fact that Yellowjacket is in the garage or you have to drive the '88 with no A/C! You just have real crappy luck with that car. I think you're just running too much power . We can always go hunting for rice in my '95. ------------------ 1995 Mustang GT |

Nah, it has nothing to do with the car. It's just my luck.... just ask my wife.
At least its not costing me anything this time... and power... Well, you can NEVER have too much of that... ------------------ "The Yellowjacket" 381.8 rwhp 377.6 rwtq "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." |
