Questions about a 95 Escort
I got my winter car a couple weeks ago, it's a 95 Escort. Its a base model 5 speed with no options, which is perfect for a winter car. My question is this: there is no tachometer... I'd like to add one but I don't know what kind of red line this thing has.. so where do I start?
One other thing about this car is it has automatic seat belts (stupidest thing ever invented). THe driver side is completely messed up and locked into the rear position. The passenger side functions most of the time but it doesn't always let the passenger out.. Do any of you have any insight on how to go about fixing these things? ------------------ KidNotch4793 1993 LX 5.0 Notchback Eddlebrock intake,K&N, 70mm,March Underdrive pullies, Jacobson ignition,Superchip, Borla,3:73's, Kenny Brown Subframe connectors, Hurst shifter, Centerforce, Saleen Wing, Cobra Badges. |

I can help you with the seatbelt problem, but it has to be done in steps. First step, remove the drivers seat. Disconnect the passive restraint module (it was under the seat). Measure the resistance between the door catch switch and the module (drivers side - BL/Y wire. Passenger side - BL/O wire). Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Post the answer, and we'll go from there. Take care ~Chris ------------------ Retired Moderator MustangNet My site: JimPorterRacing RACECAR spelled backwards is RACECAR HEY !!! Are you ASE Certified ??? If you are, ask me about iATN. The best tool you'll ever have, and it's free !!! |
