Cool Check out my new Saleen!

Check out my latest purchase:

Well ok its an RC car kit. It came with a Dodge Stratus body so I had to change it. I built a 65 fastback body for it, red with white racing stripes, but the Saleen body is so much cleaner.

Could have done a better job cutting the wing.

I am getting the mod itch.... I have a new set of rims on order (white) that look like the Saleen rims with better tires. I am buying stiffer springs, small diff gear, and eventually a smaller turn motor. I want to get this thing in the 45mph zone!

Talking 45 mph?

i really have no knowledge of R/C cars. can you really get that to go 45 mph? the body is tight, at first i was thinking why would someone lay down saleen money for sub-par performance, or basically a body kit and blower. good choice. keep us posted on the mods and the new pics.

Thumbs up

That is cool Scott. I bought my brother a RC car that was a 1/12th(I think) replica of Davey Allisons car, the X-Mas before Davey got killed. That little car would go 35mph, from what I remember... And that was stock!!

Talking

vtec8ter: You might want to take a look at Saleen resale sometime and tell me who loses more money. The guy who buys the new GT, or the guy who buys the Saleen S281.

1996 Saleen S281 $34,000 or so.
1996 Mustang GT $20,000 or so.

Value today. Saleen S281 $28,000
Value today. Mustang GT $10,000

There is definately good reason to plop money down for a Saleen. It's a sweet limited edition car. Custom interior, wheels, tires, body kit, depending on the trim it could have engine differences, etc. That, and the cars hold their resale, big time.

Back to the main topic, sweet Saleen man! Hehe, it's got a motor; therefore, it must be modified.

I got everything I need for this car at my local Hobby Town USA store. I ust raced a friend today, and his car is so much faster than mine its not even funny. He just bought a smaller gear, and has a stiffer suspension, oh and better gripping tires.

And yes they do burn rubber and do doughnuts.
