				 | Ford Commercial So I'm watching the Ford commercial with all the racing. The first time I thought it was kinda cool. Then I started thinking, why is there no drag racing shown - other than Force? Don't those guys know its the 5.0 guys are what made the Ford Motorsport/Ford Racing part market what it is today? We're the guys that bought and raced Mustangs when the Chevy guys tried to laugh us off the track. The Mustang would've been the Probe if we all didn't run down to the dealer & buy all those fox bodies. I just think its a shame when the people who buy the stuff to race are completely snubbed in a commercial that focuses on racing. |

				 | I agree completly. Did you see the other Ford Commercial with the Bullit doing a Burnout and Doughnut(sp) There are NUMEROUS different commercials you just have to watch different channels to get them. if you watch "SpeedChannel" you should see the mustang one. I don't think there are 5.0's in there BUT good commercial. Sorry if that was the commercial you were talking about. NIK

				 | he's talking about the one that's mostly nascar & other racing, it only shows john force buring out for a second. there should be more drag racing shot's on it, i agree.

				 | Keep in mind, though that the Mustang's racing roots were in road racing. You can sell more vehicles when you can brag about them winning a 500 mile race, or a 12 hour race, then you can by bragging that they made it 1320 feet. Besides, Ford was never the best source for quarter mile racing parts. When it comes to quarter mile racing, and the impact that Ford and the Mustang have had, and continue to have, those who need to know, do know, and those that don't would only be turned off by seeing it in their commercial. Take care, -Chris

				 | Actually it wasnt quite that way when Ford mentioned making the next Mustang a Front wheel drive car (The Probe). It was more like people writting in and telling Ford what they thought about that idea. There may of been a surge in sales, but it wasnt like they started flying off the "Shelves". It was more like with the current Mach 1 thats soon to come out. The Public voiced its opinion. As for giving the Mustangs its name sake, and its appeal, if it wasnt for the immense demand and popularity when it came out, the Mustang wouldnt be the legend that it is now. It would probably be a Name plate that is no longer used. There are a ton of factors that make the Mustang what it is today, theres no one certian thing. If you look into the Legendary Muscle Mustangs of the past, Most have trophies in Road Racing... 65 Shelby GT 350, Boss 302 are the first that come to mind, and those two are usually the first mentioned. |

				 | merc you forgot the boss 429 but if im not mistaken they built them so they could run it in nascar, in torino body's, but i love drag racing as much if not more than nascar, nascar has become boring lately. to many rule's
