Mach 1
hey everyone, did anyone else heard that the new Mach 1 ran a 12.97!!!!!!!! Awesome if you ask me. Anyways I was thinking about ordering one of them (already talked to my dealer about it). And I was wondering if the azure blue was the same blue in the concept. The colors for the mach 1 are.... Oxford White, Black, Torch Red, Zinc Yellow, Azure Blue and Dark Shadow Gray clearcoat finish. what color would you get? Thanks guys

I'm going to try to keep my 2000 GT, and Get the Mach 1 when it comes out in Januaury. I also read the article where they ran it at 12.9, but no one seemed to believe me.
It would have to be Torch Red for me, if they didnt have one it that color, then Yellow...Gotta be Visible. Although I make myself visible enough as it is.

Given all the debate on time slips and car abilities that have been going on the last few days, I dont want to open up another can of worms. One thing I was wondering is...The Mach 1's they drag tested, are those production ready pieces, or proto's that still have "Tweaking" issues that need worked out. They didnt say. |

I'd give my right kidney for a 2003 Torch Red Mach 1 Mustang.

The Mach 1 that ran the 12.97 was driven by a professional driver with drag radials. Ford's test guys drove it to a 13.4 on street tires. The temp outside was in the 90s with high humidity if I remember correctly.
The Azure Blue color is kind of a pasty, light, royal blue. The concept blue, which I think was FAR better, was Grabber Blue. |

They look very very very sweet! Almost makes me wish I had enough money for one and insurance wouldn't rape me for having one. Guess I'll have to stay with my Mach 1 but I havn't started driving it yet so I don't even know how high my insurance will be. Eek!

Merc
That will be a swet pair of ponies in the stable. The Mach 1 shows FORD is listening and turning the corner on providing enthusiasts with vehicles we want .. almost stock. A live axle DOHC ... isn't that what everyone wanted after seeing the 99 Cobras perform at the track. Timing is everything .... FRPP comes out with an induction package for the DOHC too. Would be an awesome ride with the FRPP heads and intake package. |

I was there when it ran a 12.97. At fun ford in commerce. The blue is not the same. They had a red blue and black one. The torch red would be my choice by very very far. It was so beautiful.
