![]() only when I really hop on it in first and second and also in 5th at highway speeds.
The first and second rattle doesn't bother me because it is only for a second or two What can I do to stop it from rattling against the stop in 5th gear. As far as I can tell it is adjusted properly and works great. maybe back the bolt out a 1/4 turn or something?

![]() seems you have 2 options
1. Back the stop bolt out to keep it from rattling. 2. Find out what the cause of the vibration is. I have a pro 5.0 in mine, and don't get one ounce of rattle. Look at the condit of your tranny, and everything else.

![]() if it rattles against the stops when cruzing then chances are its too close to it..back it off a 1/16" and see what happens

![]() While driving try putting light pressure on the shifter in various directions and see if you still feel a vibration. Also check for extra play. If the vibration stops or there is extra play in certain directions check the following:
Remove the shifter (checking bolt tightness in the process) from the transmission and inspect the plastic damper sleeve. It may be cracked or broken allowing too much play between the shifter ball and the offset lever. Good luck, Rich D. |

![]() Oops...I meant to mention that if your damper sleeve is cracked or broken, I have an extra one from my rebuild that I could mail to you.

![]() thanks guys
I have rebuilt the tranny and replaced that little plastic cup. I think I just need to back off the bolts a little bit. An aluminum driveshaft would probably help to but the vibration is not bad at all, just enough to make it rattle. If I rest my hand on it the rattle stops but that gets tiring. I wasn't sure if I should back the bolt off or bring it closer to the handle I will try backing it off a little
