Unhappy Poopie, I smoked the tranny

Well, after beating the livin' shyte out of my custom-built AOD for two and a half years, it finally puked. It's a real stick-a-cat-in-the-blender-***-first noise in first and second gears, forget overdrive... Apparently I was going a little too fast/hard when I yanked it down into first in a race on I-75 & M10...

Now I'm faced with what to do about a new tranny. I'm thinking a custom 4R70W with a Baumannator TCS, but a college budget is going to put that on the back burner for a while. Anyone have a spare 1997-up 2WD Explorer with an automatic? I drove the '80 Newport around for a while, but that sucked *** because the p/s pump went out. My parents, feeling sorry for me, bought me a '93 Accord to get me to college and back. Only thing is that I'm stuck with it until I either a)graduate or b) find enough $$$ to fix the 'Stang! I got fired from my on-campus job at the coffee shop because it's run by a drama troupe (long story), plus I have loans to pay off. Okay, enough of me bitching. I'm acing all of my classes, and I get to go home and see my family today.

Man, college life sucks sometimes....
...though I am surrounded by hot girls constantly, and I AM a SigEp...

Hey, that sucks. Least you didn't screw up the motor as well. Glad to hear you're aceing your classes though. IN the long run, that 'll be the most important. THan you can just buy another stang . Have a good holiday season. Relax a little.
