I went to LACR and it sucked-- well, at least the times did. It was fun for my first time at a track, but now I want accuracy. How is Pamona? Where is it? I cant find any website for that track. Hows the elevation? Tnx

Unless your John Force youre not going to run at Pomona. They closed it a while ago because the pussy *** town of Laverne bitched and moaned about the noise. You can go to Carlsbad but unless you have slicks you WONT hook up at all because they dont clean it at all. Bakersfield hooks up but its usualy over a hundred degrees and the air conditions suck.

Yeah LACR kinda sucks, but I still love that track. 45 min and it's ten bucks to race. You can't beat it. You could go to Famoso dragstrip in Bakersfield, but it's a 3 hour drive from where I live in Ventura.

ha ha, from johnson drive(ventura), it took me 2 hours and 15min. to get to bakersfield and this was doing 65-70mph the whole way! it's well worth it to go there over lacr!jmo. i believe lacr is right at 2700ft elevation, but with the horrid weather there, some guy told me it was like 6400 ft elevation. at least the last time i went! the only other place you may get a slower time then lacr is denver Colorado(mile high)ha ha. take it easy.leon ------------------ 96 stang, ported 99 heads, 01 bullit intake, 99 cams,Steeda power pullies,Steeda timing adj.,Kirban adj.reg.,Pro-m 87,24#inj.,Twin 57mm t/b,BBK longtube headers,Bassani x-pipe w/cats, Dynomax ultraflow catback, home depot ram air, k@n, 373's,cobra brakes, fms spings, lakewood 90/10's and 50/50's tri-ax shifter. best et 13.80 best mph 103.3 bfg street tires, bakersfield, ca |

			 Tnx for the replies. I went to LACR and ran a 15.5 @90.7 . 60ft= 2.5

I spun pretty bad. First time ever to a track and only got one run in. Since then, I can launch my car a LOT better. 60ft will drop significantly. In comparison, with my driving skills before my visit to the track, I always raced my friend in his 99 M3. He would take me by about 2 1/2 cars, maybe 3. After the trip to LACR, and after practicing, I rape him (as compared to b4) off the line, well get a good jump. Now the tables have turned and I beat him by about 1 car. So... Basically, if my 60ft dropped to a 2.1 ish, and shift at better points, can anyone guess-timate what I might run? I know I could break into the 14's, right? Anyone know what that might be with the elevation and conditions calculated in? tnx! -Andrew |

With a little patience and a lot of practice, you could probably run a 15.1 or maybe 14.9. Did you ice your intake and let the air out of your tires? The weather sucks at LACR. Your E.T. can vary by 3-4 tenths depending on when you go!! There's always a nasty head wind. I ran a 14.03 all day long then went in the winter and ran 13.77 with no changes in modifications! Trip out on that! Most people around here usually just subtract 4-5 tenths off for LACR to get a "sea level" E.T. Your car probably runs mid 14's at a decent track. Just my guess.

I'm in the Woodland Hills area. Carlsbad is by San Diego, right? Thats a long drive. I'm going to be going to a track soon (by the end of the month) so I might as well join all of you @ carlsbad. I heard its impossible to hook out there on anything other than slicks... true?
