There is an episode where Homer house-sits for Mr. Burns. In that one, they drive down to the harbor on the edge of town. I don't think its that far away. Of course you know that West Springfield is three times the size of Texas. So I don't think we quite know where it is.

the simpsons were they had "behind the laughter" was on TV today and they said that the simpsons are a kentucky family.

That episode also has Maggie talking and a bunch of other things that make it different. I think the family that plays the simpsons is said to be from Kentucky, not that the Simpsons are actually from Kentucky. See the suttle difference?

thats why i wrote that they were a kentucky family, it never said nothing about them actually living there. thats quite true we still don't really know where they are from. i was thinking the same thing after they said that in the episode today.

sorry to burst your bubble people, but Springfield is not anywhere in the USA for the show. it is just fictional name. Matt Groening used it because it was one of the most common city names in the US. read for yourself:springfield

i think most of us knew that springfield really didn't exist, but were having fun arguing about it anyways. but right on finding that info on it though. you must have a lot of time on your hands. j/k:D
