Smog Pump

I would ask this in the truck part, but it seems pretty dead there.

On my '89 Bronco, I'm going to take out the smog pump, I was wondering, is this going to screw up my computer, my cat is already gone.

I don't think it would but don't hold me to that. Better get a one of Pro's to give you the real answer. :D

I've bypassed mine and never had any problems. Completely removed on two other mustangs and never had any problems.

Since it is an '89, and the computers wern't really based on the smog, I think it would be alright, but I'd still like to know before hand, but the extra horsepower and gas milage would be nice.

The smog pump is there to help get the exhaust gas out of the cats. I want to get rid of my smog pump but I have cats. You can get rid if it but it will ware out your cats prematurely. So, if you get rid of one you need to get rid of both. Also, it's won't effect your computer in any way.

Thank you, I will begin to remove it soon.
