Some people just can't wait to check into the graveyard....

Driving to work this morning in North Dallas with monstrous traffic.

I'm stuck at a light in the middle lane with a minivan mom in the right lane. I gotta take a right at the next intersection, so when the light changes I go RIGHT as I see the green. Well grocery mom decides I really don't need to get in her lane so she nails it to stay up with me. I give it a bit more gas as I really can't believe what I'm seeing... This lady has her Caravan winding ALL-OUT to keep me from passing her.... amazing. Finally I give it 3/4 throttle and get in the right lane just in time to turn....

Next contestant is some 16-17 year old kid in some fart tipped Civic....
He comes up next to me, looks at me and revs his engine...

I do the "Hi, I see you, have a nice day" rev back expecting that to be the end of it....

Oh no, this genius starts doing full throttle lunges in the middle of rush hour.... I mean there were cars to either side of us. There was a car 5 feet in front of him, 5 feet in back of him.... and he's expecting an all out race in the middle of rush hour traffic! After almost rear-ending the guy in front of him 5 times, he gets all pissed off, cuts in front of the guy in the left lane, and proceeds to cut everyone off as far as the eye can see.

Rush hour traffic... the BEST place to play the Fast and the Furious in your 16 second Civic....

I don't know whether to say your traffic experiences are funny or tragic.....well they're entertaining to say the least!
That's crazy that the soccer mom was so possesive over her lane for no good reason. I guess since she probably didn't have her kids to yell at in back she had to take out her anger on someone. Either that or she wants to be a prime example of natural selection by ramming herself into something.
As for the ricer, i've had a fart canned prelude next to me (i was behind 2 cars IMMEDIATELY in front of me in 30 mph on freeway traffic) and he decided to cut off the van in front of me and cruise down the carpool lane (accelerating for a ricer is a "cruise" for most vehicles) for no apparent reason to give himself another mustang "kill".
Some people should chill out on the road, it's getting to where everyone's a street racer! As you stated, the best place for being fast and furious is in slow moving traffic

lmao... that is hillarious. I really don't understand some people. Some drivers can be so ignorant sometimes, I have that happen quite often people won't let me in and it's like it's not going to make the biggest deal. The best is the people who ride the passing lane doing 5 under the speed limit and there is somone right beside them and doing the same thing. I get some rage there when you can't pass them, usually if I try to get infront of the person going slow and slow down infront of them and make them move over then take off. Some people are just plain stupid.

I'll bet the soccer mom is going to tell her car pool about how she almost beat a mustang this morning. Man, I can't believe you almost lost to a mini van. Haha.;)

Stang_Crazy 07-29-2002 07:56 PM

I have to deal with about a hour of traffic each day on my way home from work. I've come to the point where I'm used to it...Still, everyday I find myself saying "God, I can't believe some people" while I'm sitting in traffic.

What really errks me is when I have somewhere to go and I get in the fast lane (passing lane). Well what do you know...the person in the fast lane is all of a sudden going the SAME speed as the person in the right lane. WTF!!! Some people....No, forget that...MOST people don't realize that there are some common courtesies (sp?) when it comes to daily driving.

Don't even get me started on 4-way stops...when someone decides that they can just roll through the intersection without stopping because "The OTHER people will stop"

Actually, I think there's a guy out on the net that has a twin turboed minivan that runs 12s. I think I saw a video somewhere...

As far as the soccer mom, she had more aggressiveness than many ricers I've raced... You know, I've never heard a Caravan wound out until this morning....

Add some yellow stripes and a big wing and she'll be all set! ;)

Idiots; can't live with them, and you can't kill them. Just seems wrong.

:)

Take care,
~Chris

I HAVE!...rofl...when I visited canada over the summer with my family to go to a funeral and take care of some stuff, my grandmother took my younger brother and I out to walmart to pick up some cool looking stuff that say canada on it (for the girlfriends of course), well she slowed down to pull into the wrong entryway, then realized it and HAMMERED it right infront of two "punks" on the corner by the crosswalk right next to the street....well the van went VROOM! and those punks jumped back from the minivan with the 65 year old woman driving it...it was hilarious!....maybe they make the canadian minivans a little stronger? hehe....

not to mention i drove my parents towncar before i got into our 90gt....that thing was pimpin' yo (hehe)...very cushy leather, etc...and everywhere i went i'd hammer that 4.6...wee :) talk about a gas guzzler tho...

sometimes its fun to wind up those cars...hehe..

(of course the cold, dense air does give us an unfair advantage)

I lived in Australia, and I'll tell you first hand, it's a major pain trying to shift with your right hand! It's a lot harder than you might think.
