![]() Drove the 2004 40th Ann. GT today at local Ford dealer. 5 speed. First time I have driven a GT and compared to my 3.8 small pony it was breath taking. Th guy gave me the keys and said take it out for a spin. I am older so he did not go with me. Ha. The dealer is right near an on ramp to I10. Shot up on the interstate and went down a couple of exits and back. I was impressed!!! MACH stereo and all.
When I cranked it up I could tell this is really different than the V6. And that third gear wow. I had to slow down on the interstate and do third gear all over again a couple of times. There was a new Mach 1 sitting next to it in the lot. Wish I would had said let me drive that one. Course I had to sit throught the sales pitch for a while afterwards. Trying to trade me up from my 2003 V6. I almost gave in. I was only there to get a funky looking paint spot on my hood looked at but had to wander into the show room. Advice: If you have a V6 and have not driven the GT or higher. Don't do it.....unless you got some money you want to part with. At least my warranty will cover the paint spot repair but I don't know if I can keep the V6 or not after this experience. Will really have to get after some serious mods if I do. |

![]() My advice to you is to get a 99 cobra. I bet you coul;d find one cheaper than you bought your 3.8 for.
Even faster than the GT you drove and for 15-18 grand. Its the best deal out there right now.

![]() That Darth Vader voice sent a chill up my spine. I almost called them back but I am thinking like 5.0. I am going to have to drop back a year or two a see whats out there in my neighborhood which could include Houston if I want to drive about hour and a half. That is if I want to keep a good family relationship. But Destiny is a strong thing.

![]() Hey, we live right down the road from each other. I'm actually in Port Arthur now, but it is still cool to have someone on the site who lives so close. Let me ask you, are there any good shops in Orange? Just like everyone else who is a bit intimidated by working on their car, I worry about who is performing the work and whether they are going to beat on my car or not.

![]() Depends on what you want done. There is a top of the line performace shop that builds or rebuilds anything. They specialize in $20,000+ engines. It is called Procell Performance Center. If you want a really fine rebuild or performance add like heads, blower, etc. they can do it.
