Thumbs down What is the World coming too?

So I go to Toronto last week and because I was flying in airports and all that kind of crap I thought that I would stop and get a Mustang Mag. No matter where I went I could not find a mustang mag! All I could find was these stupid "Sport Compact" and Turbo something or an other!

I grab one of these things to check one out. I open go to the "featured" car and there it was all riced out. So I think, hey, I wonder what kind of performance this thing has. So I skip to the "TECH SPECS" page and I get NO NUMBERS! No dyno pulls, no 1/4 mile times, no track times, no horsepower rating, NOTHING!

What I do get is a whole list of things like "Hood: Johnny riceman with hood scoop" and "seatbelt: super extra padding with gold trim"

WTF! What is the world coming too?!?

I think they just like to buy things with writing on them that they can't even read.

Ha ha ah ha. Interesting post.

I know what you mean, 6T9PONY, that's why I ALWAYS take my MM&FF magazines (at least 3 or 4) with me on long trips.

Heck 95, you should have asked me about that before you left.

Out of all my travels, and I travel A LOT, I've never seen a good Mustang magazine at ANY airport in the continental US or abroad.
The closest I've seen is Hot Rod magazine....

If I get a magazine from the airport its usually Time, Newsweek, or Private Pilot....

That's funny that you mention the no 1/4mi time, dyno, hp or any numbers 95mustangGT, because i've read only 1....yes 1 that actually had dyno numbers AND the cost of the items. It was a civic and for $2000 they got some cheesy fart pipe "kamikazee X, insert other famous japanese word with a letter after it, name" a V-tech controller, intake system, and i forget what else, but they got like 6 horsepower....i'm not exaggerating at all. I'm sure the powerband went all to hell also, not that it has much of one to begin with.
I watch speedvision on cable and they have alot of Hotrod TV, rally racing and other cool stuff. But they have a lame ricer show where they show case "sport comcrap" cars and none of the owners really know what anything does, how fast it goes or anything like that. They'll just say, "it really throws me back in the seat", or "i haven't had it dyno'd after the new stuff i put on", not that it was ever dynod in the first place, and if it was it would be pitiful anyway for the amount that they have to pay for all that crap.
Another thing i find amusing is people who are like, "yeah, i'm gonna make my 15 second prelude "all motor". I don't think these people realize the amount of precise machining and lightweight/strong parts and cost and especially having to ahave a great combination of matching parts it takes to have a 12 second NA car, especially one powered by overworked hampsters. Of course, all this arguing is silly because after all, just like fast and the furious all these cars are "10 second cars".
Ok...i'll get off my soap box now, i just had to let the world hear my obnoxious ramblings.

I went into my local Pamida and Alco a couple weeks ago and neither one of them had a Hot Rod issue. The one about the "25 Best Home Built Cars"....my subscription had run out and my renewal hadn't come into effect yet so I was going to go buy one...neither one of these places had one...I ended up getting it at a Safeway grocery store....not a good deal....

That is crazy i wonder why the airports are like that. I quess i never really looked. Hell over here though I can choose from 4 different mustang magazines, car craft, hot rod, muscle car review, drag racing monthly, nascar monthly whatever u can think of is there. They only have two import mags and a couple low rider mags the rest is all american cars and trucks. This is all in the same store too and they are cheaper than cover price.

i would really like someone to try to define rice. Its really hard, im seventeen and i would say its a bunch of punk A$$ community college dropouts who pick up high school chicks with there fart cans. The sticker Shlt is simply to make their already a$$ 'ugly shlt mobile unreconizable and the 5% windows are simply to hid their acne infested faces. POS ricers, im taking them one by one, simply by embarrising them in front of their few friends.

I Hate Rice, I'm there with you man. I hate those ricers. I think it's more of the reason that the people who drive this cars think they are all that and they got nothing they are all a bunch of sob's. Everytime I see one I'm like thats why I bought a muscle car. I will rape those ricers so bad. There is acouple at my school I cannot wait tell I next summer when I drive my car to school. It will be over for them cause as soon they piss me off I'll doing the biggest *** burn out for them to see what a real car does. Then challenge them to a race.

I think it's funny when u see a ricer running around with an unpainted ground affects because he thinks it looks cool. Hmmmmmmmmm, red Honda Civic with a white front and rear bumper, sexy...NOT!

Also, they think that when they can churp the tires on take off, that they are cool. Well, first off, the cars are light, and second, when u hit the gas, all the weight on the front shifts to the rear. But when a muscle car has to spin, all the weight shift to the rear, on the drive wheels. They just think that your not playing fair when u smoke the tires.
