I'm noticing all this new CRAP at these parts places. My eyes got bright :eek: when I saw hub caps that make your wheels appear 2" bigger in diameter. What the crap?!!! And all this Fast and Furious floor mats and seat covers, rice shifters, neons, stickers, etc, etc. :mad: :mad: :mad: What is this world coming to? Hey you even get a chance to win a "Cool" (as quoted in the ad) car in a drawing. (picture looks like a 2002 lime green civic with stickers, stupid ground effects, outrageous wing, you know the nonsense you see in F&F (the Fags and the Ficticious). :mad: Trash....

I feel your pain. This crap is outta control. I was hoping it was just a fad (Like leisure suits), but it loooks like it will be here for a while. I went to my favorite speed shop, that I have built half my car from. I asked him why there was so much rice crap hanging on the wall (Euro lights seat belt pads with japanese writing on them, shifters ect.) where there used to be stuff for v8 Fords, chevy and dodge muscle cars. He said "Thats whats selling now" I was bumbed out about that. Like you said. "What the hell is the world coming to" I think those cars are anoying to say the least. I would never own one, and you would think with all the crap going on in the world and with so many countries against us that you would go American all the way.

(it must have been stuck with how mush it was spraying CONSTANTLY) runs a 14.7 with naws.........my 10 yr old son and i start in with geesh i wish i could run 14.7 with the bottle......of yo mommas milk.........and with all 4 tires flat. the glars i got rumblin thru the show car corral.........they knew the whoop *** had arrived...........then a civic si with a turbo....comes whistlein along.....got all the sub 20 people anixous...all talkin "yo yo yo he gots a turbo yo...." 14.6 95 mph.........so we started again......"geesh with the times,i could take a tree nap....wake up brush my teeth then hit to gas.....all with out a turbo......i didnt understand they must have liked me they kept throwing water bottles at us.........

Yeah I know what you mean, I just take all my frustration out on them at the track when they fall back in my rearview mirror I feel good inside:)

Yesterday I was at Pep Boys who has a huge ricer section, and this kid and his mom were trying to decide how many and what color Super Street stickers to put on his car.:rolleyes: ~Brian

Yeah, I hate RICERzone now.... the store near me just recently changed the setup of the store and loaded the shelves with Riced out sh*t. I go to O'riley's now and they have a small section of ricer stuff, but I have never seen anyone buy any of that crap. I think I'm safe for a little while....

Only thing I buy in those places is filters, oil and wax/car wash... I then proceed to the check out line asap, I can't spend too much time in those places. Here in Queens, the import scene is all Korean, and they all try and portray that ethnocentric badass asian aura, pisses me off to no end.

a few of my v8 buddies are doin a massive cruise in on opening day at the movie theatre... a sea of performance cars.. against a group of rice... f-bodies, musclecars, mustangs, hot rods... it'll be glorious...

i whole heartedly encourage all my mustangworld peeps to do one at your local ricey theatre an show the forces of rice, performace dosen't come from autozone..

i went to advance auto saturday, trying to find a breather for my 750 holley, geeze everything chrome or vinal was rice, i asked the guy, uh do they make anything for american car's?, yeah he said is it a chevy , we have valve cover's & about 3 chrome breathers, well, found a small narrow breather that might have worked, some jack azz had stole the filter, well we went to the filter section, lo & behold on top of the shelve's were awesome aluminum racing wing's :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :eek: , i said nevermind man, l8ter. :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :confused: :(

"Thats whats selling now" ... thats just it, unfortunately mommy and daddy's credit card can buy any and all of the ridiculous stickers, tailights, light kits, exhausts, etc.. ask some of these kids who paid for their car, and who is paying for their "mods." must be nice...
in a way we cant blame the shops, they are trying to make money and if by selling this **** to these ricers increases business, its hard to ask them not to appeal to them :rolleyes:

as for the person who went to the "import wars" or whatever, if it sucked so much, why did you go? i've ran volkswagen at the strip several times this year. i've ran it on import night and test & tune night (basically no imports). on test & tune night this year, everyone lets me do my thing without even giving me a 2nd look. on import night, i can't make a pass without jim bob coming up to me and telling me that his 82 camaro will smoke me and my nazi car sucks. IMO, that's pretty weak.

i run in the 10's all day.without the bottle and turbo....with half the money in my ride that turns heads whereever i go without sitting at a stop light next to a "import" revving my tin car exausted whatever trying to get attention from the camry next to me wanting to run one of the only cars my import will beat.......i enjoy cars what ever they are but put up or shut up.dont bug me at every stop light i am at beacuse my car says 5.0 on it.thats weak.some import at the store the other day comes up to me and says hey want to run for pink slips.....i asked what he had....a yoda...(lil green man?) so i told him that i didnt have any more room in my yard for yoda's.i know what i run and what i have i dont need to prove it to anyone everytime i see something

i care because they think they are fast and furious.thats why..and they arent.i pay with my own pocket,do mostly all my own work,and i am responsable for my own insurance and that is how a true enthusiast plays the game,dont drop it off at wally's garage,grab a check from your parents and drive away from it.(not saying thats what you do) but i have built a 70 nova ss ran 10s all day drove it to fla to race there when no one said it should be tortured for 25 hrs.built a dart gt,a 69 gs stage 1 so to me it isnt the cars,its 95 % of the lil bags they represent.i have been building cars since i was 14 as a hobby,so i have 18 yrs in now.and i have never never acted like these lil tards do.if you throw around " wars" i want a friggn war,not a 99 prelude with naws runnng 14 7s.that isnt a war.and i dont sit in the pits saying my 5.0 is going to smoke anyone.....i could throw it away with the light...........just the fact that someone with a turbo and 25000 in a civic runs high 14s isnt impressive.....i have not ever a 3rd of that in my 5.0 and its a straight and nice looker that goes like hell.mass stang knows my ride and he shares the same attitude.like i said i enjoy all cars.just walk the walk if you tak the talk,or shut the h e ll up get it? i am an enthusiast

okay, works for me. i drive an import, so i prolly hear as much of that stuff from "ricers" (oddly enough, all high school kids) as anyone here.

i kinda got the impression that you were endorsing situations like this:

- i run at the track.
- random domestic guy in the stands makes some sort of negative comment about my car.
-random "ricer" that i don't know tells random domestic guy that my car is "fast" and will smoke his "POS"
-random domestic gets all pissed and approaches me(best case- tells me how much i suck......worst case - wants to beat my arse)

it sometimes seems that domestic guys assume that all import guys know each other and are boys. for the most part, the "ricers" hate all imports except their own little crew and the fastest one in town

Any idiot with money can go out and pay to have nitrous, or a turbo installed on his car, and not even know anything about it.
What really impresses me are the guys who can build a motor to run 11's or even 10's with no power adders. I have alot of respect for the guys who do their own work on their cars

:D could i take that as a backward compliment? if i can thanks much appreciation.....i do alot with mass stang and we get together frequently,and share tips,do the rides,i am constantly doing something to my car......i just got anothet intake from the shop that i am going to try out in the next few weeks,if it doesnt make me faster keep your eyes open a ported and polished explorer intake may be up for grabs.....i dont have any adders,just bolt ons,norm.aspirated......no naws,or a turbo.

There's a Sport Compact Car magazine in my office now. (No it isn't mine. Someone found it and thought it would be funny to put on my desk. Kind of like gay porn or something...whatever). Anyhow, there's an ariticle in there about track testing the cars from 2Fast 2Furious. To sum it all up all the rice cars are talked up about how balanced and high tech they are. Turbos, nitrous, fancy paint, blah, blah, blah. Then they review the clone Yenko Camaro. Here are some quotes. The older I get the more I think tolerance of others is overrated. Just me.

last friday i popped into my friends pizza place , where all the driver's have riced out cars but have seen the sleeper stang run (except one @ss with a civic who will find out)

one of the drivers runs in and yell's that thers a huge group of rices staging out on the highway between Calgary and Cochorane,

would i like to roll with them up to this road race (cars running great boost turned up nitrous works still hasent been run on this motor)

I show up and these ricers who work for my friend are telling all the other Ricers about my car with respect (It actually changed my mind about most of them)

I had one of the head Ricer's ask me my top speed , I said 139MPH he was like I top out at over 145MPH I said i thought at the end of the 1/4 ,

They then told me I wasnt allowed in on there little run and asked me to leave but it kinda killed there air of invincibility.

So when i did leave i was confused half of them asked questions and drooled over the twin turbo V8 and half thought it was a anchor?? I dont know what to think.\

My friend has a Daewoo that's riced out. Right now he's just got the muffler, next he's getting the $1k body kit for it pffft. Then the wing. Oh yeah and since its' a "street racer" (so he calls it) he's gonna go with performance tires in the front and 18's or 20's (wheels i mean) in the back for racing. ROFL, he wants to go with ME to the movie theater for opening night to 2f2f. I'm like, "uhhhh, i dunno man how about you go down there first with your car, then uhhh, i'll come later?" heh.

Dude, you have to set him straight b4 it's too late. Give him some guidance. I have a friend with CRX who was talking about putting all this rice crap on the car and one night I had to have a pep talk with him. We had a good discussion and he seems a LOT more even-minded now (whew- *wipes brow*). I couldn't stand by and let a friend screw up his life. ;)

I take my 89 GT to a local cruise night almsot every Friday. And it seems like some ricer has to pick me out and tell me all about his car. LIKE I CARE !!!!!. I would much rather talk to a Chevy, or Mopar guy about their car instead.

I kinda agree. The cars aren't so bad, it's the invincibility attitude of the drivers. My list of projects that I left in another thread didn't include the joint efforts between myself and friends. My friend and I built a 1/4 mile car that ran mid 9s for the entire season in 1983 @ 135+ mph. The top end ran over 180 topped out. The car was a 73 'Cuda with the 440 magnum and was dynoed @ 650 hp and awesome low end torque. We never did find out the torque rating.

My former girlfriend had a 17 year old son who had a ricer friend I "raced". Late 80 primer grey Accord with two blue stripes down the center of the cars top (GT 350 style). I allowed him to take a full car length for about a block before I opened the 4 bbls. Left him there like a scared dog. I even had time to pull into a parking lot and get the car stopped before he caught up. His first words, "I got my a** kicked by a station wagon, a STATION WAGON!" My girlfriends boy instantly fell into the US crowd and the next week his first vehicle was a 66 Ford F-150 with the big 300-6 in it.

Next week Autozone will install Panda Express counters at all locations! :D

Man I know what y'all are talking about. I saw a Autozone commercial on tv a few nights back and it had mostly rice and riced-out domestics in it. It was mostly geared towards imports and it makes me angry that kids see this crap and think that it's the greatest thing in the world.

I've got a 1995 Ford Mustang. It's not the greatest car in the world but I'm going to put a small block and a good tranny and 8.8 rearend in it eventually. It'll be nothing special but it'll be something that I can drive and race and have fun with. Most of all, it'll be CHEAP. You will never find me owning or modifying an import.

..... today *sigh*, my friend (drives a '92 Z28) and I are in a parking lot. He's talking to some other friends of ours while I'm loading my guitar in the '92. In pulls this RICED OUT RICE ROCKET (to put it very nicely) Baretta/Corsica with the near 5 foot aluminum wing on the back and some stickers and other feces. :mad: :mad: I'm like "who is this pulling into the parking lot with this turd." I'm thinking, "yeah, too much Farts and Futurless." Come to find out it's this kid we kinda know (by the way, this kids younger brother is CRAZY about Mustangs-- and Elvis-- and many times has asked me about my '79.... I even gave the kid one of my MM&FF magazines).

A few minutes later, we were eating lunch and I said to my friend, "Hey you saw who was driving that ricemobile right?" He was like "Yep". Typical white boy with earrings in his ear, gay N'Sync hairdo, to little teenage girls (I decided to use this word instead of the first word that came to mind) riding with him wearing tight close :rolleyes:.
