Street racing movie being filmed this weekend, extras needed!

Here's a copy of the email I got...

"The Last Race"

We are looking for people and cars to be featured in the film between
Thurday, May 31st, and Sunday, June 3rd. Car clubs/crews welcomed!
Immortalize your crew on film!

Thursday, May 31st 7pm-12am
Friday, June 1st 7pm-12am
Saturday, June 2nd 7pm-2am
Sunday, June 3rd 7pm-2am

Any guy or girl who shows up will get to be in the film. We’re going to have
a lot of crowd shots, racing shots, and running shots (when the cops come) to
get. There will be plenty of food and drinks. If you’re interested in coming
for any of these nights, please call the number below.
Anyone who participates will be invited to the
premiere screening of the film, in August.

My car is going to be one of the main cars in the film, so it'll be great to get some fellow stangers out there to cheer on my baby. It's being filmed at:

Sorry if this is misleading, everything has proper permits, and the 'cops' are hired actors. Some members of other boards where I posted this were worried that real cops were gonna be busting people. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif

Forgot to mention...call (818) 324-1635 if you're going so they know how many people to expect.

Skyman 05-30-2001 06:18 PM

When is this gonna be? I'm close and I have a cousin with a 12 sec 68 stang also. Mine should be in the low 11's now. I can send some pics of it if you want.

Man, be careful. I was in Law Enforcement for 6 years. This sounds like a perfect bust. Invite everyone to come and bring friends???? It might be legit, be careful. If this is to be held on a public street, something smells fishy. This kinda reminds me of the U.S.Marshalls in L.A. a few years ago. Left word for about 50 folks, with warrants on them, that they had won a free trip, just show up at this hotel room. They netted about 40 idiots.

Hey, Sky, If this is legit, do you want to go?

bgilly 05-31-2001 12:51 PM

Believe me guys, this is FULLY legit. Alex (the director) has full insurance on everything, he has hired officers for security (and because the law requires it), and he has hired professional stunt drivers. I don't think he'd go to such extent if it wasn't the real deal.

fastang 05-31-2001 01:48 PM

I hope to get a new clutch in my ride on Sat, If I do I will go that night or Sunday. Hey Sky, I just got a system put in my car last week, 2 12inch Fosgates, 400w 4chnl amp bridged, separate crossover, and a new deck.

Sweet jesse, sounds like a fat system...

A question you..

You said this is a copy of the email you got. A random email or what? Your car is gonna be the main car? And they are letting you drive it? Also how'd it come to be the main car? Also whats the movie called? And im sure they dont have insurance for letting everyday people race around on a closed set that aren't specific actors cleared in the insurace? How do we know are cars will actually be in it?

skyman: This wasn't a random email, it was sent to everybody that is a main part in the movie, as a confirmation for the shooting schedule because it has changed a couple times. I don't know if you can call my car the main car, but its the car that the one of the lead actors buys as a kick *** mustang to win the street races with, and it is in the grand finale race scene at the end of the movie. I believe it is supposed to be in a couple other race scenes too earlier in the movie. Because of insurance reasons, they are only letting me drive it for the burnout scenes, but when the car is actually racing they have to have one of the stunt car drivers do the driving. The movie's called "The Last Race". Alex told me that whoever showed up would be in the movie, whether its in the background as one of the cars waiting to race or on the sidelines, or if you're lucky like one of the Corralers was last night, he'll decide to put your car in the movie for a race scene.

FUCKYEAH!!! Lets do it. I just ordered a completely new mass air sensor and I plan do intstall and tune it on sunday morn. My car still isnt acting right. Do you think you can help me tune it up before we go? I have a whole shitload of tools and a HUGE driveway if you need to do anything to your car as well.

The only thing I dont have is a hydraulic lift http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif Yeah, come on over. You can finish the job at my house, I dont have a floorjack anymore though http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif but I doubt you will need one. Im not going to have a new clutch by sunday. Im probably gonna slam it in here at work next Sat. Do you still have my cell phone #? Im going to send you an personal message with it.

fastang 06-04-2001 11:18 AM

What happened Sky? I didnt hear from you. Do you still need to finish your nitrous install? I was lookin forwart to the movie shoot. I was going to go by myself but ended up taking my girl out to dinner instead. I put a stock MAF in my car and its running great now. Im not sure if its any faster but it sure cured my engine probs...no more hesitation or choppy/stalling idle.
