Fastest you've ever gone...car, bike, fighter jet?
I know this is one for the lounge or street racing, but I'd like to hear from the windsor boy's! Whats the fastest you've ever gone driving or riding? whether it was a car or a bike or an F16?
And don't B/S please.

How 'bout it!, never thought of that one, what do you suppose a big airliner like that needs to take off? As cruising speeds are like 200-400 mph right?

550 Knots in a KC-135 refuler while filling up F-16's over the UP of Michigan. If anyone wants pics I got some sweet ones! Seeing those fighters in the air was the most amazing thing that I've ever seen!

The fastest I have accelerated was 0-160KIAS (184mph) in ~2-2.5 seconds. It was a night cat shot off the Connstellation in 99. Since I don't fly fast movers, I would say 430KIAS coming into the break at Pensacola flying T-2C's years ago. I go slow now.

well i think the FASTEST i've been was in an airplane, but the FASTEST I've driven was probably 140 in the STANG, 115 in the OLDS (electronically limited ), and an indicated 170 on the ninja. (we all know bike speedos aren't very accurate!!)
I have the 160 vid of it though... Click here!!

Hopefully one day after college I'll be averaging 231mph around the IMS 2.5mile oval. Anyone else goin to the 500 on sunday?

I am an F-16 crewchief. I got an incentive ride last year in the back of a D model and I threw up a lot after we landed. As soon as we took off he went vertical, I didn't look at the altimeter or airspeed indicator though. It totally changed the way I think about my job and the pilots. Lasted about 1.2 hours.

my stang is slow but I was also a crew chief on several aircraft. I got several flights in a T-38 Talon trainer. Went mach 1.2! what a feeling I dont think many people here can say they did that. I currently work on F-15 fighter the "Eagle". I am still awaiting my ride on that jet my goal? "MACH 2"

Deliberate posting in the wrong forum
I know this is one for the lounge or street racing, but....
gtsr515: Please respect the intent of the individual forums as they are constructed and do not purposely post non-tech messages in the tech forum as they will only have to be moved. Thanks.

I've done a measly 110 on the interceptor and I got the needle pointing straight down in the escort. That is one where 85 is at about 4 o'clock, and that is where the numbers stop. I think I've broken the century mark in just about everything I've owned.

Been on several planes but the fastest I've driven was 110 on the lil ninjette and 20mph (yea 20) in the dodge. (Of course it was on it's second trip around the speedo! The speedo has a listed 120. Fun stuff that big heavy boat actually starts trying to go airborne at that speed. Started drifting towards the median divider. I try and keep it under 140 now.

Top speed
130 mph in my Mustang, 210 mph in a single-engine four cylinder (150 HP) Piper Warrior airplane at about 4000 feet - as a passenger, not a pilot (last week).
Airliners probably shouldn't count but 550 mph at 35,000 feet in a Boeing 747 - more than once. |
