Talk about a bad day.

I took some leave from work to go up to Oregon to see my parents for a week. I decided to take my truck up. Bad idea.

I made it up to Redding, about 200 miles from home, when I noticed that my rear U-Joint went out. I had to pull over in Redding and bought a new U-Joint. I had a fellow Ford owner help out and get some greese, and got back on the road again.

Well, about ten or so miles from Weed, my truck started running funny, acting like a bad carb, but it's fuel injected. It cut out about ten times, and didn't start for about 10 to 15 min, each time. I finally made it to weed, and decited to fill it up the rest of the way, it was already ¾ full. When I got done filling it, I noticed that my tire was low on air.

I took it over to the air pump and started pumping it up. I heard an air leak so I took off the hose and started looking foe the leak. Well, I finally found it. My wheel cracked between the tire and the wheel center. It was about a five inck crack, unrepairable.

I tried to get out my spare, but the 289 sittin in the back made it really hard. Since the spare was smaller, I had to drive the rest of the 300 miles, with it pulling to the left really hard. Man are my arms Sore.

So now, it went from a 8 hour drive, to a 16 hour drive.

No fun at all.

I found a used wheel to fix my old one. Tommorrow I will hopfully fix the dieying part of it. I think it's just my fuel filters. I haven't changed those since I got the truck, and I have put on over 10,000 miles.

I just got done taking the tire off, I found about a foot long crack in the inside of the bad wheel, not good.

They are 10" wide aluinium wheels, not one piece wheels
