Not to sound unconvinced, but really, for an AOD to even equal a properly driven 5spd will take $1000 in modifications. To hand a 5spd it's *** ? That requires a quality high stall converter, serious gears, and you had best throw a shift kit in there so it lasts. If the average shadetree makes the quality mods (including the gears), it'll set them back nearly 1k in just parts, if they have somebody else do it, you're talking about $1500. For the $1500 spent that will hand a 5spd a two tenth deficit in the quarter, you could put that 5spd ahead of a stock auto by a full second. By two full seconds if you have the old 5.0.

In my books that's pretty bad. Besides, I don't need to convince you, you're already replacing that AOD with a 5spd you have on order, hehehehe.
