There are several guys I know pulling 1.6 60ft's with IRS. If you are shooting for tens IRS does suck, but for the average 12-13 second weekend drag racer it is just fine. I get better 60 ft times with the cobra on street tires than I did in the 88GT with a solid axle.

I think IRS gets a bad rap. Sure a solid axle is better at the strip after a certain point but you can do pretty good with the IRS.

I have had my car two weeks and so far the only complaint is crappy gas mileage.

Cobra and gas mileage don't belong together. Do you mean bad gas milage for a 320HP car or just bad gas mileage overall?

Lol. Good point yes a 320 HP car with good gas mileage is probably asking for too much. I am getting 13-16 mpg with mostly in town driving and just a little bit of racing here and there ;)

Later,

That doesn't seem too bad. You said BONE STOCK, so I assume you have the 3.27's? You'll probably see better mileage when (not if when ;) ) you go to a 3.73 or 4.10 gear. I know my mileage went from around 15-18 to 18-23 mpg in town (I have a lead foot so tracking mileage doesn't mean very much to me).
