There are several guys I know pulling 1.6 60ft's with IRS. If you are shooting for tens IRS does suck, but for the average 12-13 second weekend drag racer it is just fine. I get better 60 ft times with the cobra on street tires than I did in the 88GT with a solid axle.
I think IRS gets a bad rap. Sure a solid axle is better at the strip after a certain point but you can do pretty good with the IRS. I have had my car two weeks and so far the only complaint is crappy gas mileage.

Lol. Good point yes a 320 HP car with good gas mileage is probably asking for too much. I am getting 13-16 mpg with mostly in town driving and just a little bit of racing here and there
