Post STOP.

The drag car is a 4 banger. It has new struts and shock all around. I want to upgrade brakes but heard I need to change struts and spindles to go to the 5-lug lincoln brakes (same as everyone uses on factory v8 cars), Is this true. I know if you change spindles you have to change struts and everyhitng. Dont want to do that. Any other options?
Thanks
Brad

The spindles you have now are junk. They came from Ford on all non-V-8s and pre -'87 5liters. You really have no options other than to change spindles, struts, etc to find better brakes. Most brake systems use the '87-up spindles or, even better, the '94-up spindles. Sorry to deliver the bad news.

Thanks man, Thats what I was afraid of. I can still use the 4 banger springs can't I? I need these for the launch effects. Aren't the Struts are the same except the mounting tabs are a little farther apart on the v-8 ones, as far as the length and size are concerned. Could I just spread the tabs apart a little to fit the v-8 spindles? That is probably a stupid idea though.
