The tomb of the garage Queen opened
Well "some"progress has been made. The tomb was opened this last weekend. After seven long years the light of day shined once again on the Queen (a '79 5.0 'stang) as the vampire dust bunnies screamed. The Queen's attendent, a doomed younger sister (an '80 inline-6 'stang) sitting obedeantly along side her. The Queens guard an ancient poodle/terrier and two cats quickly arrived to see who opened the tomb. Quietly the queens attendent sacrificed the body parts her queen required, so far, that being the front bumper assembly, the passenger window and right side mirror assembly and the tail lights. The queens attendent must soon vacate so the space can be utilized rebuilding the Queen's 5.0 heart.
The project begins. |

That's cool you're finally able to start work on your project again. Why did you have to wait 7 years? What plans do you have for it?

She was originally purchased for my then 16 year old daughter for $500.00. All she had to do was keep oil in her, she didn't. One day my daughter seemed alarmed about a noise the car was making --DUHH! Well, she lost it. Literally, when I said that I didn't have the time or money to fix it then she went beserk and kicked in the taillights, broke the passenger window and cracked the windshield. Some temper huh! Anyways as a result of that I took it away and locked it in the garage. Then refused to allow her access to the other vehicles we had. Then a co-worker of mine had the '80 I bought for $100.00 a few weeks after that.
In the meantime I have purchased a set of KB .030 over flat top pistons, a set of Rouch 180 heads, a Doug Herbert Cam Kit CF4N, Manley Race Master Valve's (1.94 and 1.60). BTW, The daughter finally grew up and bought her own truck which SHE, not me, takes good care of. Tough lesson learned. |
