Default Tranny Problems again

OK, I have poseted a similar post in the past, but the problem is getting worse. I have a 2001 mustang 3.8 manual. I am having problems getting it into 5th gear at hiway speeds. I have no other problems with the transmission, no slipping, no other grinding. Somone said something about it being a synchro problem, but i have no idea what that means. Has anyone ever heard this problem before, and also, if you have, will it be something covered under warranty, since i have a cat back exhaust? thanks, i appreciate it.
