web browser ?
The past few weeks on mustangworks i've had to refresh the forum pages to see the most current threads. If I read a post and decide not to respond and I hit the back button, it will take me back to an older page with posts from a few days before hand.
I mainly use internet explorer, and sometimes netscape but it seems to be doing the same thing on both of them. Do I need to clear something? like the temporary files? or something to do with cookies? (mmmm cookies sound good:D) I'm about half computer illiterate and need some help here guys. Thanks |
I use Internet Explorer and everything is good on my end.;)

You might try clearing your cookies and resetting everything but I suggest you e-mail Dan McClain directly with this question as he's a computer guru and should have some good advice for you.
MW was running real slow and freezing up sometimes for me...tough when you're the messageboard administrator and have to look at dozens of posts almost every day. I asked Dan about it and he practically screamed at me to update my Netscape 4.7 browser to 6.0. So, I did. Result: problem solved; MW runs fast and smooth and the 6.0 version is great - easy to install, too. Check with Dan. |
In IE, go to the TOOLS menu and select Internet Options. Under TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES, click on Delete files to clear your browser cache. From that window you can also set how often your cache is to be deleted (purged). Let me know if that helps.

I tried deleting the files, but it still didnt help. I set it to check for new versions of the sites everytime i visit them, but that didnt help either.
I already have netscape 6, and have been using it today. It seems to work fine on mustangworks, so I'll just keep using it. Thanks guys |
If you hit refresh does it come up with the new ones? Also is the computer on during this whole period. Like are you on and view the page and go back next day and then go back and forth and it takes you to the old page? or do you shutdown or restart between that time.
But try these few steps. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Cookies and then click OK, then click Delete Files and select Delete All Offline Content and Click OK. After that click Settings and select Automaticly is selected under Check For New Versions of Stored Page. Restart Your Browser (Shut all Windows then Open it Again) If it still doesn't work then try updating to the latest version of IE6 from Here Best of Luck, if it still doesn't work post back. §am. |
