Man, after reading all of these posts I am freakin' depressed.

I can't say I know how you feel, but I can take a good guess. I've been through some similar stuff...."Oh man, she's got to be the one..." Oh freakin' well. I know what that's all like.

I remember back when I started undergrad. I met the "perfect girl". Of course after an entire year of being used, led on, and hurt, I found out that she wasn't all that great after all. I wasted one of the potentially best years of my life chasing after the wind. I know exactly how you feel about not wanting to hurt anyone and doing anything you can for someone. That's what it was like with her. Unfortunately, she dragged me along like a little bi*ch all the way up until the point that she got pregnant by her "ex" so that he would marry her. I still can't stand that bastard prick. He treated her like **** and she begged for more. I think if I saw him now, 5 years later, I'd still have the urge to push his nose through his cerebelum.

Anyway, that taught me a very valuable life lesson. Nobody will ever be all that you think they are. As it turns out, everybody is just a screwed up as everybody else. I don't think that there is that "perfect girl" out there. In fact, I know there isn't. That being said, I do know that there is a woman out there that I can love the rest of my life and that will love me the rest of mine...a woman who will trust and whom I can trust. Someone to share life with. It won't be perfect, but it will be for life. I'm sick of looking at the most incredible sunsets on the face of the earth and looking around for someone to share it with and not having anyone other than God to tell about it (don't get me wrong, that's great, but God created man with a yearning for human companionship...I'm just waiting to have that filled).

After that little bout of sharing, I'll tell you to hang in there. It sucks now, and it will for a while. But it WILL get better. Sure there will be times when it really sucks, but just live life, man. In the mean-time, with all the extra money you're saving, work on your car. That's what hobbies are all about...distraction.

Sure, I feel sucky after writing all of this and remembering back, but it's ok. My throttle body should be delivered today http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif.

God bless, man.

At least you didn't get married. If you had, she would have gotten 1/2 of everything. Possibly more. That happened to a friend of mine. He was married for two years when his wife decided she didn't want to be married anymore. She broke it off and left him. Filed for divorce and got 1/2 of everything. She also filed for alimony, but couldn't prove he was at fault in any way, so the judge lauged at her and tossed that out.
But she still got 1/2. At least your EX didn't get 1/2.
Life is too short to worry about what might have been. Enjoy what you have now.

Merc, it would really seem that I'm every bit as good as I think I am. LOL. Seriously though, I can't remember a time when I had that kind of effect on girls! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

I know how this goes, I've been through it all before. I remember your first post on the last problem you had with her and I said things I don't think you wanted to hear back then. I won't say I told you so - but you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make her drink. It hurts....I know. Time will make it easier to get through (don't bother w/ listening to sad rock-ballads....it'll just get you upset all over again. Trust me, the only thing that will really help is jumping into the sack w/ as many hot/big-breasted women as you can get your hands......I've been there, I know http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif Good luck Batman!

I hear you and understand...but...as you get older you will learn that sh*t just happens and life gets better as you get older. People change easy, especially when they're young, just because it's a part of growing up...besides anyone who's been with the jealous types, know one thing...the harder they try to keep you close, the farther they push you away. LIFE GETS BETTER, I felt like you on one of my departures but was lucky enough to speak about it with a wise old man (dude had been thru 5 wives!). Go polish your Stang get behind the wheel and "Drive".

Hey Merc. Im sorry to hear this! Its kinda odd, but I just had almost the same thing happen to me. I have been with someone special for almost a year and boom! I dont even know what is going on. I know its hard to lose someone after such a long time! On the bright side maybe she just needs some time to cool off, and think? I dont know? Being a woman, Im trying to think what I would be thinking if I were in her shoes. Communication is the best thing though! If you really loved her and she really loved you, you two shouldnt want to give up on a three year relationship! I would try talking to her(if she will let you) and ask her what has been goin on lately that she is so angry about or insecure about. I dont know what else to tell you. I hope that I have helped a little. And I hope that things work out for the best!!
Truly, Jessica
