Well, I got a Miami Dolphin leather jacket and a new jack and jackstands and some money. It was a very nice Christmas. Wish you guys could have seen my daughters face when she went outside and saw the huge swingset we got her. Remind me to pay someone to put one of those things together next time. But hey, it was all worth it. Happy New Years everyone!!!!

I got:

5 pairs of pants
a crap load of socks
4 shirts
couple nice v-neck sweaters (solid colors)
some cotton pj's (which I never sleep in, only lounge in)
and of course, white t-shirts
I actually like ALL the clothes and and it all fitslol

a chess board (I'm only just learning to play)
a two quart canteen

Lastly, my wife bought me a beautiful; 21-speed, alloy, springframe bicycle. And it's Silver w/Black wheels and spokes, just like my car

I know I'm forgetting something.

My Mother bought me 4 hand blown glass Coca-Cola Christmas tree ornaments (I collect Coke stuff), a carton of cigarettes and an Apple iPod MP3 player. The iPod was a last minute decision, and as awesome as it is, I'm not a real big MP3 person. She get's a PC magazine called "On" (I think) that comes free with her Time magazine subscription. A recent issue was proclaiming the best PC things of 2001. When it came to best gadget, they selected Apple's iPod, and appologized to their Windows readers for doing so, but insisted their was no equal, and that they really had no choice. This so impressed my Mom that she went and bought me one. She knows that I am a pure Mac addict, and figured I'd love it, especially since even the PC folks are aknowledging it as being best. I do love it, and am actually fascinated by it, but I only have around 90 MP3's on my Mac, and this thing holds over 1000. I'm also not really sure when I would use it. I have stereos in every room of my house, and a nice system in my truck. When am I going to need 1000 MP3's? I guess I need to start playing with it and see what happens. That's always worked in the past.

I bought myself a new roll-a-way for my tune-up tools, and am going to buy a Bissel carpet cleaner tomorrow (unless anyone can convince me of a better one. Please do if you know of one!).

Take care,
-Chris

Good to see you back Chris. I figured you were with family for the holidays, I almost took off for Ocala Friday to party with some of my family but decided against it(11 hrs drive, one way).

That ipod sounds killer! Do they make anything like that for us pentium users? I got my dad a stereo system for his F150 and it has a jack on the front to plug in a mp3 player. I have 1100-1200 mp3s on my cpu and my dad has easily twice as many, he could really use something like that ipod(mom and dad travel ALOT).

You have DSL? Do you have Morpheus yet??

Rick-
Dude, this little thing is awesome. I am totally blown away. I have 277 songs on it now, and am at 19% capacity. I loaded the MP3's from the Mac to the iPod in two groups. The first was 100 songs, and the second was 177. It took 17 seconds to load the 100 songs, and 24 seconds to transfer the remaining 177. This thing is small enough to fit inside a pack of cigarettes, too. The sound quality is amazing, too! Very rich, deep bass and full range mids and highs. I don't have a clue how they fit a double bass drum in these little ear pod things, but that's what it sounds like. My understanding is that Apple is considering a software package for the Windows crowd so that they could use the iPod too, but it doesn't look good anytime before next spring. In the meantime, upgrade your system to FireWire. It transfers between 100 and 600 MB's per second. Mine seems to be around 400 MBps.

BTW, this little 5 gig doohicky can also store data files, and doubles as a portable hard drive you can fit in your shirt pocket.

I had Morpheus, but 2 weeks of anti-biotics, and that special lotion, and I'm all better.

Actually, I use Lime Wire.

Take care,
-Chris

My wife got me a 57in Sony TV (flat screen-digital ready) and on top of that she got me a Sony dolby surround system which is 2 big speaker towers (one of the tower contains the dvd-am/fm) and 4 other speakers that are hanging around the family room.
I bought her Italian leather sofa an love seat.
I hope my 2 huskeys don't rip the furniture, boy they will be sorry.

Man! That thing is the wave of the future.. Who needs CDs when you can carry you're whole music library in your pocket or glove box(rename to mp3 box?).

Firewire? My cpu has some firewire jack. Looks like a USB port(iLink?).

BTW... you smoke menthols!? Man, those are the worse things to smoke, they are actually worse than regular cigs.

Rocket, man you have a real KEEPER there bro.

It must be a wide screen to be a 57".. flat screen? If its not a projection tv, then I need to see what you are talking about. Flat screen is in reference to the tube TVs. We were looking at the flat screens in best buy the other day, the biggest Sony 'flat screen' was a 42" or 47". It was a wide screen as well.

"rbatson" yes the TV is a projection tv, my wife got both the TV and the surround system at Sears (total value $4000).
The day she bought the system Sears was giving a 10% discount and you don't pay until Jan 2003. Also Sears had a sign that they would match any cheaper prize so I went in the internet and found the tv for $200 less which they credit to the account.
The movies are (specially the sound) but this baby is made to watch football and hockey games.

I heard they were doing that last year(Sears), I can't believe they are still doing it! How can they make money when they advertise something on sell for say.. $899 and I can use pricescan and find it for $599(digital camera)? They are either making a killing or losing money(probably making a killing). Sounds like you guys got one heck of a deal, hard to pass up.

Party on!
