Smile What do 11 sec. cars feel like?

Can anybody give a description of what an 11(or 12) second car feels like to drive? Does it set you back in your seat at all? Can you chirp the tires going into fifth?? I have dreams of one day owning one, but thats all I can do right now...dream. I think my car may have ran mid fourteens when I owned it. It was quick but nuttin too wild. Maybe your stories can add to my day dreaming at work Ahhh....dreamland...

Your joking right? Ahahaha...my truck will throw me back in the seat hardcore. It's an automatic and manually shifting it, or leaving it in D, it'll roast the tires through every gear, and my truck is tubbed, and the tires are 18.5 inches wide each. I'm running around 500hp/500 ft. lbs. You can't really describe the way it feels, you just have to feel it.......

Never ridden in a 11 second car. But I rode in a 8 second car and about craped in my pants.

I've been in 2 low to mid 12 sec cars and the feeling is incredible. Like a rollercoaster almost. Very addictive!

The best part is the launch and how you are looking up more then forward. On the street is more fun for me. I think it is cool being able to smoke the tires when you are already doing 60mph

no matter how fast it is, you always wish it's faster.

Now that's true to an extent. But if you were running 3's in the 1/4 I'm sure you'd be satisfied or scared to death.

fastest car i've ever ridden in was a 11 sec vette. the acceleration was so hard, your tongue gets stuck in the back of your mouth. not literally, but you can understand the feeling. he told me to touch the dashboard, and everytime i tried, he stabbed the gas and pinned me to my seat, i tried sitting forward, i couldn't without hold on to the oh sh** handle! My car felt almost like it, but the pinning wasn't as hard. i was pinned, but you can feel the difference.

tireburner163...were you driving or along for the ride? I got a ride in a '70 camaro that had a built 302 that supposedly ran high twelves. I didnt feel much pull though. I was all pumped to ride in it but was a little disappointed. Sweet car though.

When I first took my car out I, of course, took it slow to get the feel for it. I first ran a 13, then 12, then an 11 (big difference from the previous), then 10, and then 9's.

My first dip into the 9's produced two consecutive 9.98's. After I bolted on the vacuum pump I really got a shock, so much so that I let off at about 400 feet before the finish (I know I know, I am still kicking myself!!).

Anyway, this pass generated a 9.78 but would have likely produced an E.T. in the 9.50 range. Let me tell you though, when you get down there you can tell a big difference in just a matter of tenths of a second.

I just picked up my backhalved 2001 yesterday and managed to shed about 700lbs from my old 89'. Should get me into the 8's on the motor. Can't wait to see how this one feels!!

Does anyone know what kind of G-force it is. what would the G-force be at 5 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec. I'm curious to do see what the difference is.

Scary the first time, which was my only time. You get a rush but it happens soooo fast and the feeling of not really having control of the car is the scariest part. Of course, worries about over-revving and blowing up someone's expensive engine or worse yet, losing it and hitting something make it extra intense but it's still a great experience that would have been even better had I been driving my own 11-second car.

By the way, this was awhile back and it was a '66 Chevy II with a totally built 383 and not only did it run 11's but it could stop equally well (a revelation) and handled pretty good, too.

Well i've calculated my car to be in the low to mid 7's in the quarter once i get eveything worked out on it. I've already ran mid 4's in the 1/8th on both stages, and let me say, IT"S ONE OF THE SCARIEST RIDES YOU WILL EVER TAKE!!!! It just takes your breath away and you can't really move. All the lightpoles just fly past you while your goin down the track. Only thing you really ever hear is the motor. you don't even have time to think. Very incredible feel.
