Question What do ricers call us?

Just wondering...

Well, we know they're ricers, but what do they call us guys with the muscle cars?

While they may argue some of the names we think of, the one undeniable answer was already given:

FASTER

Take care,

i'm always to far ahead to hear what there saying!

i hang out on wed night and about a month ago a few camaros and an eclipse showed up and we had a race set up so we went out and 2 camaro's raced then we set up a race with the eclipse and a stock 88gt first thing the eclipse driver said was " is that the slowest car here" we told him it was only car that was stock enough that he had a chance with. needless to say my friend spun off the line but caught up quickly.

THose are some interesting answers, but I wonder if they even have a name for us at all? Probably something lame. Maybe I should go to a ricer msgboard and piss them off so they can call me that name (whatever it is) . Naaaah, I won't do that. Not worth the hassle and I'm not usually one to stir up trouble. I'm a goody goody.

Next time he says that, ask him if that's because it eats up and spits out pussies like his Pontiac.

or

smile and tell him you are what you eat.

Take care,

Default Not starting anything...

First off, let me say I'm not trolling here, I'm an old school car guy that just happens to currently have an RX-7, and I have always been impressed by muscle cars. I don't consider myself Rice by any means, and look down upon that style with disdain and disgust. My personal feeling is that most of the import and sport compact guys could learn a LOT from muscle car guys because otherwise they're just re-inventing the wheel. </soapbox> But, you guys asked the question, so here goes:

Slostang (you have to admit, there are some slow ones among you)
Rustang (apparently derived from the late '70s when all American cars rotted out in 2 years)
Crapstang (simply childish if you ask me, a slur should have some true meaning, this is the equivalent of a 4 year old calling you a "doody head")
Old School (even I take offense at this, you'd think they'd want to learn from those that went first)

Peace

SuperchargedRex why don't you take you little piece of crap RX-7 and get outa here, before I whoop up on you with my four banger LX . LOL j/k, with ya, welcome to the board

I will be the first to admit that not all imports are rice and that not all domestics are fast.(but a lot of them are).

BTW as for the competition there is Camarslow, Slowmaro, and Firechicken

Default Thanks for the welcome

My RX-7 isn't mind numbing fast, but its quick enough for me, and I like its handling. I hate it when ricers tell me I should put 18" wheels on it and lower it 2 inches, and then I should get a big @$$ wing for it. I hate that crap!!! Back when I was in high school, I had a '75 Nova. Imagine the tormenting I got from the kids in Spanish class that translated it into "No Go". Arrgghh!!! Talk about bad nicknames, I was screwed by the factory.

I have rode in a rx-7 once. There pretty fast if their done right. I wouldnt have a problem owning one at all. I like the way the look factory. Maybe a set of racey(not 18's or some dumba$$ thing like that) looking wheels with a good set of z-rated tires and tinted windows. I like them much more than a Supra. So Welcome Rex, hope you hang around.

Brad

BTW I think they should call us "Smart"

I just don't get the whole rotary thing. Kind of embarassing considering where I am in my life! After the first time I saw a crank out of a rotary engine, I just stopped trying to understand them. Looked like it had been in a giant rock polishing turner drum thingy for weeks. I'm not big on diesels, either, but at least I understand them. Well, kinda. I must admit that the idea of using high compression to fire a cylinder instead of a spark plug seems risky, but hey, it works!

Anyway, welcome!!! I hope you stick around!

Take care,
-Chris

Rotary engines are pretty easy actually. You have a triangle spinning inside an oval. (You guys should have the oval concept down ) There are 3 combustion chambers, one on each face of the triangle.

Then you just have two of them back to back, rotating 180 degrees out of sync.
