17, still in frickin high school. Can't wait to get to college. I play 3 sports in high school so I don't have time for a job. During the summer I work for a construction company. I plan on going to the University of Nebraska at Omaha and doing something along the lines of Architectural Engineering.

Mercury 03-05-2002 01:19 AM

I'm 24. I shouldnt probably say this because of some of the things I've posted on here that I've done about work, but I'm the Outbound (Evening shift) Dock Manager at Fed Ex Ground. Been working there 6 years.

silver_pilate 03-05-2002 01:29 AM

Well, I'm 22, and I'm a full time giver-out-of-money-that-I-don't-have-to-overpriced-state-sponsered-educational-facilities-while-unsucessfully-chasing-the-lady-folk-in-between-tests-and-assignments.

That boils down to I'm working on my Masters in Physical Therapy. I graduated from WBU last year with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in phys ed. Just 2 more years to go and I'll get to make some of that $$$ back and start my next little 393 turbo project :D.

I also work weekends at Healthsouth, a physical therapy clinic, as a PT tech / business office assistant / fitness consultant. When I have any spare time off from school (Christmas was the first break I've had in almost two years...straight through summers/falls/spring), I work with the county surveyor's office working on property surveys.

Through undergrad I worked the same job at Healthsouth along with part-time jobs in the university bookstore as the textbook assistant manager and as a lab technician in the Biology department.

I'm 25, and have a BSc in Mining Engineering. I work for Ingersoll-Rand Drilling Solutions as a Marketing and Sales Manager type for all of Canada. My "group" in IR makes the large rock drilling equipment that works in Mines and construction sites.

It's a cool job and has brought me all the way from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Dallas, Texas, USA (a city which I have grown to love). Actually I really like Texas and the US too. I'm not a traitor to Canada, I just like the USA. Both countries are so similar, most people just don't realize it!

I just turned 26 years old on March 2nd and I am the plant supervisor at "western Falcon" We put polymer liners in oil field tubing I have been working there for 6 years and have been at my current position for 2 1/2 years.

I have 25 people working under me and it is very stressfull at times. But it pays good.

silver_pilate 03-05-2002 05:44 PM

Mike,

Let me think....hmmm...yeah...that's right. I think I slept once about 3 weeks ago. No wait...that was when I was knocked unconcious in a basketball game. Close enough, I guess. ;)

Between school and work, I stay pretty busy. I think they've got us going in 17 hours of grad work right now...6 classes and two labs. Makes for some long days on occasion, but it's doable. This summer I'll be on my first clinical affiliation for about 6 weeks. I'll be working full-time (for free, mind you) in the VA here in Amarillo. We have one week off between the end of the spring term and the clinical, and then we have one week off after the clinical before we hit a six week summer micro-term. Then we'll have a whopping two weeks off before the start of the fall and the wonderful world of orthopaedics and differential diagnosis.

Right now I gotta run back up to the school to cram for a pharmacology test that's going to eat my lunch. The crazy thing is, we're expected to know more than the students in the pharmacology doctorate program! This test will cover over 350 pages in the text and 25 chapters. YIPPI!!!!

I'm 35. I'm ASE certified in Engine Repair, Automotive Electrical/Electronic Systems, and Engine Performance, and own and operate my own auto repair business. I'm also A+ certified, and have been known to make a few bucks fixing PC's and building websites. I spend most of my "freetime" as a crew member for Jim Porter Racing. Our Sprint car team won the VRA Sr Sprint Championship last season. Unfortunately, racing doesn't pay very well, otherwise that would be all I did.

Take care,

My reply will increase the 40 + age category.....

I am 43 and my occupation is that of a Compter Programmer/Analysist. I am a project leader with 8 programmers reporting to me (Some in the USA and some in EUROPE). I usually get to spend approx 2 months a year traveling overseas to install computer systems for new company's that my company buys. We are now knee deep in the middle of replacing all of our own systems with JD EDWARDS software.
