What does my mustang WEIGH?
My mod's are listed below. None of witch should decrease the weight or the car. Anyone know how much it weighs? Anyone ever go to www.slowgt.com and do any othe the "racers math" stuff? It asks for the weight, so I'd like to know what a fully loaded 1991 Mustang GT weighs.

Mods to date: 4.10 rear end, new POSI, aluminum driveshaft, AOD w/ shift kit, 2 1/2 off road h-pipe, 2 1/2 flowmasters and 2 1/2 tail pipes. Electric fan, Removed air pump and egr tube. Hotchkins upper and lower control arms. New energy suspension rear busings. Hoosier Quick Time Pro 27x10.5x15 and bolt on subframes soon to be welded. Everything else is STOCK. Totally stock ENGINE. 14.29@96 with 130k miles. |
My first mustang was a 91 GT with and AOD. I had it on the scales one time, the only thing extra in the car was a full nitrous bottle. The slip said it weighed 3230 lbs without me in it.

A fully loaded 1991 AOD GT should tip the scales with a curb weight of between 3150-3200lbs or so.

Closer to 3300 pounds.

Easyist thing to do is just take it to a metal salvage yard and get it weighed. I've done this several times the last few years. Cost me $5 each time. I even did mine after some suspension mods, weighing the front tires and then the back tires to get front % and rear %. The info was worth a lot to me, especially for the low $$$.

I'm not sure what a Fox-body weighs, but my Cobra weighed in at a meer 3260 with a 1/4 tank of gas. With me in it, it weighs 3390. Tells you how small I am, huh? If it helps, the SN-95 weighs more than Fox.

I just checked from 1987-1993 and the heaviest curb weight listed for a GT Hatch was 3194lbs. The ranged in as tested weights was from 3080lbs in 1987 to 3194 in 1988. The other years ranged from 3144-3191. This information came from the NADA website.
I really don't think the Mustang is as heavy as what people think. |
3080lbs How on a stock car did they get that?? My car was 3060lbs with a full tank of gas no A/C NO Power stearing and a pin on hood, and no rear sets in the back. no tire or anthing in the back at all and no trim either.

Well dude, I can't say. You'll have to ask the guys at the NADA. The 1987 coupe LX 5.0 weighed 3000lbs even according to them.

Actually, according to Ford, a 1991 GT w/auto trans weighs 3251 pounds, dry. Add to this your fuel, oil and cooling system fluids.
