What year Cobra? 96-98 like 14.0's at around 100 mph, but it depends on the car. 98's are supposedly a touch faster than 96-97, but some guys have had 96-97's in the 13's stock. These cars can come down to the driver a lot of the time. 99's had power problems before the fix, but after the fix should be faster than previous years. 5.0 Cobra's are a bit slower, mid 14's or thereabouts? Just all off the top of my head. Correct me if I'm wrong.

There was a guy at the track with a stock 5.0 cobra that ran a 13.9? or at least he said he was stock.

I agree with mystic96...try going to the Corral and posting that a stock modular Cobra runs 14's and see how much off an @ss chewing you get. You'd better check your source...

Thanks for the response guys, I know there are always exceptions to the average also, so I'm sure that there are some faster ones out there, by the way T-BONE what does you're modded Cobra run, and what did it run stock? I realy am just curious, I know a lot about LS1's,LT1's,L-98's and so on but of course these are GM's, I know a good bit about the old Mustand 5.0's and what they are capable of with the propper mods and tuning,I've been drag racing for several years, I'm 30 yrs old and still love it! my dad who is 62 has a 95' SHO which I took out the air silencer and put in a K&N for him, took it to the track and ran a 9.9 in the 1/8 mile at 74+ mph, heck I talked him into gettin' that car and I think he's glad for it!

With some practice most guys usually end up in the 13.6-13.8 @ 102ish. The all time best that I know of is a 13.08, but that is, as they say, probably a "mutant".

Jay, I just bought this Cobra back in October, after the local track was already closed. So, I don't know what it will run. The local track is only 1/8 mi.
Just before I bought this car, I sold my modded 96GT. I never got it to the track either. I only had it for 9 months. I took it to the track the last week I had it because I wanted to find out what it would run, but we got rained out before we even got started .
I plan to take the Cobra to the track this spring though. I would like to get some slicks by then...

OK my intention was not to misinform, and especially not to flame! My sources are various publications, which are probably a bit on the conservative side. I never know which numbers to post since it seems as though 4.6L Cobras do have variances in what different cars/drivers run. Thanks to all who corrected me, that's why I left that statement there

I go to the strip about twice a month in season and MOST of the stock 4.6 Cobras I see go 13.8-14.6.

Remember that is Joe Average driving and Not Evan Smith. I understand those 4.6 twin cammers can be tricky to launch, and most people think they drive better than they actually do.

I'll second the notion that the car mags, Motor Trend, Car & Driver, Road & Track, etc... review the 1996-1998 DOHC 4.6L Cobra's at 14.0@102mph. The 1999 Cobra was quoted as a very high 13 second machine before the fix, and after picked up a little. One article posted the 1999 Cobra after the fix at 13.5.

So maybe you need to check your sources, mystic96.

Or maybe you don't have any but your rear end? (and I'm not talking cars) You come off as an arrogant jerk who flames everything in sight because the Cobra has historically not performed to the level for which you have been able to achieve. It's true the DOHC Cobra is a very formidible car when driven with some zeal, and they respond exceptionally well to some very basic mods such as gears, but for average Joe Shmoe driving his stone stock 4.6 Cobra, they are going to get about 14.0@102mph.

Take your flames somewhere else, people like you give Mustang owners a bad name.
