Whats up man? All you need to do is get yourself some slicks and a 150 shot of nitrous and that should be good enough to take out any pieces of jap crap and many other streetcars

have fun!

No mods needed, my friend. Just a heavy right foot and some decent shifting.

fast...civic... can you say "oxymoron?"

1. Get gears (3.73 or 3.55)

2. Exhaust (headers, h-pipe and cat-back system)

3. Nitrous (big-time HP for cheap)

Step 3 may not even be necessary.

God, I hate ricers.

14.8@94.5 mph to a low 13? That's a turbo or Nitrous, if he isn't adding that then low 13's are bs. Gears would be first on my list, and learn how to launch and you'll be just fine.

If hes going from mid 14's to low 13's he has to be putting on a turbo. You are going to need something good to compete with him.

Get a good set of tires #1 thats $275.
(Drag Radials, ET Streets, ET Drags etc)

Get 3.73 gears $425 installed.

H-pipe $100 off road $250 cat.

Get a NOS Dry kit. You can go from 75-125hp Im pretty sure. ~550.

Were at about 1300 now.

The next best bang for the buck is going to be a set of pulleys for about $115.

Pull the air silencer and put in a K/N. $40.

Fill up your Nitrous bottle $35.

A throttle body, intake, or Maf isn't going to make much of a gain at this point.

Get a good shifter. Pro 5.0 B&M etc. $180

Theres always a few unforseen costs so this should put you right under 2000.

If he has a $30,000 Civic that only runs 13's, you've already won.

Yep, I agree. I ran a late 90's civic with a shot of nitrous and we were close to dead even. I was pulling ever so slightly. And that was before I got my MAF and the car was running like crap.

You should find out what he is doing. Because if he thinks a 50 or 75 shot is going to put in in low 13's, I would doubt that. Your 91 5 spd. should have that beat stock.

Hey it may be junk, but it is faster junk that what he's got

With traction, you should be able to break into the high-13s.

With nothing else except 3.55's, 1 5/8"heads, xpipe, 2 chamber flowmasters, and a k-n-n i ran 13.90@99mph. On 17"street tires. So go get that cockeyed piece of jap crap. If you can drive there is no way he will beat you. If he is putting something else on his car then just get slicks. I know of many civics that are turbo and/or nitrous that run mid 14's. Are you racing as soon as he mods his car more? If so you got him right away. He will need alot of tuning after he does something major to it.

I raced a neon that supposedly ran "high 12's" on slicks. We raced from 10 mph to about 75 mph. I got the jump on him and he never gained on me. This was in my old stang that ran 14.7's.

Talk is cheap. Unless he has a timeslip, don't believe his times. You should win this race with some good driving!

Once upon a cool, humidity free night, I took my 1999 3.8l 'stang to Moroso. I was locked into lease with much time to go. I thought I would modify the six banger to have some fun with it. Hell, I thought I might even shell out the cash for a blower for the little motor. I broke the staging beams and brought the motor to about 2grand against the clutch. I looked over at the little red Civic in the far lane, convinced I would be showing him my taillights. Yellow, red, red, red, GREEN! I took off riding the clutch out, but still managed to one-wheel-peel to redline, banged second gear and continued to spin the back right rubber. By the eighth-mile mark, the little ricer was so far ahead I couldn't even tell what color it was. My head hanging in shame, I drove around the return road and picked up my timeslip-16.20 @ 88.8 mph. Man, I thought I could have yanked a 15.90 out of it. As for the Honda; the little red devil ran a 12.14. Didn't care to ask what mods he had, it is, after all, still a Honda. That was it for me though. Being beaten by an electric cockroach and running a 16 second quarter inspired me. The next day I got rid of my V6 and bought my beautiful 1995 GT. It's not in the 12's yet, but rest assured you red spawn of satan, I vow to find you, and when I do...you'll see how pretty a SN95 looks from behind. If you can still see me.

1. Stiffen up your suspension: sub-frame connectors($150 installed), polyeurthane bushings($80), springs($180 installed), this will help launching.

2. Improve breathing with Cold air induction w/ k/n filter($250 install yourself) and headers/h-pipe/exhaust set ($600-800)

3. Some good street/slicks ($200)

4. Pulley set ($150)

All this with some good shifting and a good reaction time should definately put you inthe 13's. Get and own that ricer! Good luck!
