![]() My car died today while on my way to work. No fuss or drama...I took a turn gently and it just flat out died and wouldn't fire back up. Now...a month or two ago it did the same thing and I took it to a shop and they fixed a wire on my MSD box. It ran great until (I assume) today. My question is, since I frequent this shop whenever my car breaks down and they've always treated me really well (good deals, great service), if it's the same problem that they tried to fix last time should I expect them to do it for free this time? I mean...I don't want these guys thinking that I'm implying they do sh!tty work...but I'm also hard up for money and don't wanna pay to fix the same thing twice. What should I do? (This is, of course, assuming it's the same problem).

![]() If you have exausted your other resources in troubleshooting it and don't have a clue, then yes, I would go back to the shop. If they are a reputable shop like you imply, and they have treated you good before then most likely they should fix it for no charge. Thats if its the same problem like you said. Shops like that tend to be aware of the power of "word-of-mouth". If they charge you twice to fix the same thing you tell your friends who tell their friends....etc. Good luck getting it fixed.

![]() Could be your control module too. They usual go out all at once. But I agree if they fixed it before and if its the same problem I would expect them to fix the problem free of charge unless for some reason its your fault.(Not saying that it is)

I don't have an ignition control module. It's just an MSD 6A box and an MSD billitech distributor. Nothing fancy. I had to ditch the module when I went to carb from CFI. BTW...haven't even heard from the shop yet. They said they're very backed up. But they have a contract with the local PD so they have to take their cars as priority over all others. I'll keep you informed. ------------------ 1984 1/2 GT350 (#842 Hatchback w/ T-tops), 302HO, Comp cams Xtreme Energy cam, Carter 625cfm carb, Weiand Stealth intake, MSD distributor, MSD coil, FMS 9mm wires, 1 5/8" MAC unequal shorties, 2 1/2" MAC Prochamber H-pipe, Flowmaster 2 chambers, KYBs, 16"x8" 4 lug Cobra Rs, Falken 245/45ZR16s |
